Role purpose

 

Develop, validate and monitor statistical models and tools under the standards of PRA, BANXICO and CNBV, as well as meet the requirements of local and British regulators.

 

Main activities

 

  • Development of effective models for the estimation of reserves and Stress Testing.
  • Update and monitor model-related regulations.
  • Model monitoring for compliance with internal model risk management policies.
  • Provide the necessary training and dissemination to users of credit risk measurement models.
  • Identify, measure, mitigate, monitor and report operational risks, especially those related to the measurement and management of credit risk.
  • Support change initiatives and escalate any concerns.

 

Requirements

 

  • Management responsibilities through subordinate managers performing.
  • Broad and comprehensive understanding of concepts and principles within multiple disciplines or a fast changing discipline.
  • The role requires a comprehensive understanding of how all value units / products / regions / legal entities collectively integrate, alongside a comprehensive knowledge of the industry in order to contribute to the commercial objectives of HSBC.
  • Covers a wide range of activities that require complex judgements based on advanced analytical thought. Problems often require an innovative approach, based on extensive research.
  • Seeks ways of improving and adapting day to day departmental activities and will actively seek authority to implement them.
  • The role requires the ability to guide, persuade and influence others through the developed skills of communication and diplomacy.
  • Latitude to make decisions outside of established procedures but within a policy framework.  Broad guidelines are available.  Role implements strategy set by others.
  • Implements business plans through own team and is accountable for results.
