Role purpose

As a Senior Analyst, you’ll be the finance partner for HSBC Mexico’s Credit Cards and Payments business, turning granular customer and segment data into clear financial insight that drives growth. You’ll sit at the intersection of finance, data and commercial strategy—supporting performance reporting, forecasting and budgeting, and providing decision support for pricing, campaigns and strategic initiatives.

You’ll work closely with Product Heads as a trusted adviser, helping them understand the “why” behind performance (revenues, costs, PBT and key drivers) and translating analysis into actions that improve customer value and profitability.

Key responsibilities

  • Deliver financial performance insight for Credit Cards & Payments across customers/segments/channels (Revenue, Expense, PBT and key KPIs).
  • Analyze and explain key financial drivers highlighting opportunities and risks.
  • Build and enhance dashboards and KPI frameworks that make performance easy to track and act on (automation-first mindset).
  • Support and help run forecasting cycles (monthly/quarterly) and contribute to the annual budget process for the business area.
  • Provide financial analysis for campaigns, pricing and value propositions, including scenario modelling.
  • Support strategic initiatives and business cases with robust assumptions, benefits tracking and post-implementation reviews.
  • Prepare concise materials and recommendations for senior stakeholders and governance forums.
  • Drive continuous improvement in data quality, reporting efficiency and analytical tooling in collaboration with cross-functional teams.

What you’ll bring (skills & experience)

  • Solid experience in financial analysis, forecasting and business performance, ideally in cards, payments, retail banking or similarly data-rich industries.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to present insights clearly to senior audiences.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities independently and deliver at pace.
  • Curiosity and ownership mindset—someone who asks the right questions and follows through to outcomes.
  • Experience working in a multinational / cross-border environment is desirable.
  • Experience automating reporting/analysis is a plus (e.g., Python, Excel VBA/macros, SQL; SAS).

Education

    • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Engineering or a related field (or equivalent experience).
