Job description
This role supports ICG FIG growth and risk-managed delivery by providing deep portfolio financial analysis, executing transactions end-to-end, and progressively taking ownership of selected client relationships in partnership with product teams in Mexico and globally.
Key points:
- Conduct ongoing financial analysis of portfolio clients to identify opportunities, anticipate financing needs/market trends, and flag emerging FCR, credit and operational risks.
- Produce product gap analysis to help evaluate and structure the right solutions for clients.
- Provide hands-on execution support across multiple transactions, including coordination through execution and disbursement.
- Develop towards Relationship Manager capability via on-the-job training and increasing independence over a small set of relationships, scaling client complexity over time without reducing support to the portfolio RM.
- Manage day-to-day client coverage for assigned names and deliver HSBC offerings by working closely with product specialists in Mexico and other locations.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.
- 6 months to 1 year of experience (or recent graduate) through internships/trainee programmes in one or more of the following: Corporate Banking, Credit, Treasury, Risk, Audit, Financial Consulting, or finance roles within corporates.
- Exposure to financial analysis and/or process work (documentation, tracking, coordination), even if gained through internships, is valued.
Must-have knowledge
- Basic accounting and finance: P&L, balance sheet, cash flow, key ratios.
- Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, formulas, charts) and PowerPoint.
- Advanced English.

- Strong analytical capability and curiosity to understand the client’s business.
- Clear communication skills to coordinate with internal teams.
- Ability to manage priorities (multiple tasks simultaneously) and meet deadlines.
- High standards of ethics, confidentiality, and discipline (given risk/compliance requirements).
Nice-to-have (not mandatory)
- Exposure to FIG and/or banking products (credit, cash management, trade).
- Basic knowledge of KYC/AML or credit processes (including theoretical understanding).
- Basic financial modelling.
