Workforce Planning Senior Analyst

Role purpose
The Workforce Planning Analyst supports the shaping, enablement, and continuous improvement of enterprise workforce planning practices across Global Businesses (GB), Global Infrastructure (GI), and Geographic teams.
Working closely with the Planning Service Lead, this role helps maintain high-quality data, guidance, and workforce planning practices within a global organisation.
The role partners closely with stakeholders to ensure workforce plans are aligned to business objectives, cost plans, and long-term strategy.
Main activities
Workforce Planning
- Support the design and technical enablement of workforce planning practices for GB/GI and Geographic teams
- Work collaboratively with the wider Workforce Planning team to understand, influence, and develop workforce planning policy, guidance, technology and analytical capabilities.
- Demonstrate and execute best-practice workforce planning practice, processes and tools, informed by industry standards and organisational context.
Data, Technology & Analytics
- Work closely with the Anaplan Centre of Excellence (CoE) to support the development, enhancement, and deployment of workforce planning capabilities and solutions
- Ensure workforce planning tools and analytics are fit for purpose, user-centric, and aligned to enterprise data and technology standards.
- Produce standard reports and basic analysis to support insights, service performance, and decision-making.
- Use tools such as MS Excel (e.g. formulas, pivot tables) and, where applicable, Power BI to analyse and present data.
Workforce Plan Development & Governance
- Support GB/GI and Geographic teams to enable consistent build, submission, collation, and analysis of workforce plans.
- Analyse workforce plans to support the provision of relevant, high-quality feedback and challenge, driving continuous improvement in planning quality, discipline, and value delivery.
- Ensure strong governance, data integrity, and transparency across workforce planning cycles.
Requirements
- Experience supporting processes, services, or operational delivery in an People, Governance & Communications (PGC), people, or data-focused environment.
- Experience creating or maintaining documentation, guidance, or knowledge content.
- Working knowledge of data analysis using MS Excel, including formulas and pivot tables.
- Experience in workforce planning or related disciplines ideally within a large Financial Services organisation.
- Understanding of workforce planning methodologies, financial planning, and cost management.
- Clear communication skills (written and verbal), with the ability to explain information in a simple, user-friendly way.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy and quality.
- Organisation and prioritisation skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Willingness to learn, adapt, and build new skills in a complex environment.
- Collaborative mindset and a positive, supportive approach to working with others.
- Experience with workforce planning technologies (e.g. Anaplan) and analytics-driven decision-making preferred.
- Experience working in agile delivery environments, with practical knowledge of features, epics, stories, and Scrum delivery models.
- Strong influencing, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to provide constructive challenge.
