Workforce Architecture Skills Analyst

Role purpose
The Workforce Architecture Skills Analyst supports the delivery and continuous improvement of HSBC’s Workforce Architecture services, with particular emphasis on the skills service but also including Job Architecture, Position Management.
Working closely with the Global Architecture Service Lead, this role helps maintain high-quality data, guidance, and processes that underpin key People strategies such as recruitment, learning, career development, and workforce planning. The role provides an excellent opportunity to build deep expertise in People architecture, data, and service delivery within a global organisation.
Main activities
Skills Service Support & Delivery
- Assist in the creation, maintenance, and publication of knowledge articles, guidance materials, and process documentation for Skills & Job Architecture, Position Management.
- Support the ongoing management and maintenance of Workforce Architecture products and services.
- Respond to service enquiries and provide support to Business Managers, Job Family Owners, and Functional Managers, escalating complex issues where required.
- Support the transition of new enhancements and service components into business-as-usual service delivery.
Skills Data Quality & Analysis
- Support data quality management, including bulk data updates, exception reporting, and validation activities.
- Develop and produce reports and analysis to support insights, service performance, and decision-making.
- Use tools such as MS Excel (e.g. formulas, pivot tables) and, where applicable, Power BI to analyse and present data.
Process & Continuous Improvement
- Assist in identifying opportunities to improve processes, guidance, and service efficiency.
- Support change initiatives by documenting processes, tracking actions, and coordinating updates.
- Participate in User Acceptance Testing (UAT) to ensure changes to Workforce Architecture products and services meet requirements and are ready for deployment.
Stakeholder Engagement & Collaboration
- Work collaboratively with colleagues across People, Governance & Communications (PGC), Technology, and Operations to support service delivery.
- Help prepare stakeholder updates, presentations, and communications under the guidance of the Service Lead.
- Build an understanding of governance processes and support adherence to agreed standards and controls.
Requirements
- Experience supporting processes, services, or operational delivery in an PGC, people, or data-focused environment
- Experience creating or maintaining documentation, guidance, or knowledge content
- Working knowledge of data analysis using MS Excel, including formulas and pivot tables.
- Clear communication skills (written and verbal), with the ability to explain information in a simple, user-friendly way.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy and quality.
- Organisation and prioritisation skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Willingness to learn, adapt, and build new skills in a complex environment.
- Collaborative mindset and a positive, supportive approach to working with others.
