- Ensure that the data used by their Business Process (consumed and produced) is clearly defined and labeled.
- Run their data through the Standard of Care to determine the level of data granularity needed (basic, intermediate, or advanced).
- Assist in the annual review of their data sets used in their Business Process and their mapping to the HBIM.
- For data sets that are consumed by a BPO, support them in identifying: the application the data set comes from, links to the data set (e.g. files), and tools that are used for data sets that are produced by a Business Process, support the BPOs in identifying the data set or link to an existing data set, naming the data set, uploading the data set using a template into the data inventory, and linking the data set to their business process within the tool.
- Identify Report Owners.
- Identify the mapping/systems and tools needed to consume the data from their Business. Process, and determining if those systems are Trusted Sources.
- Remediate systems and tools deemed not to be Trusted Sources.
- Annually review the list of applications associated with their Business Process.
- Ensure everything is verified in the Trusted Sources Framework.
- For Business Processes that have already been documented, support BPOs in double checking that mapping of the end-to-end flow follows the HSBC Process Mapping Standards.
- For Business Processes that have not yet been documented, support BPOs in reaching out to ITSOs and EUC partners to draft a map of the end-to-end flow, ensuring that the resulting diagram follows the HSBC Process Mapping Standards.
- Evaluate the results of their Data Quality Checks, and assisting in any Data Quality Issues that may need to be logged.
- Assist in the resolution of any Data Quality Issues logged in DUSE 4.03.
- Assist in the logging of any updates made in remediating of Data Quality Issues.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel with an emphasis on Pivot Tables.
- Strong written & verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Detail-oriented.
- Risk & Compliance expertise a plus.
- Data knowledge (data management, data lineage, data integrity, data quality, etc) a plus.
- Able to cope with pressure and tight deadlines and to be change-oriented.
- Understanding of BCBS239 Risk Data Aggregation and Risk Reporting (RDAR) principles and the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC)’s “Heightened Standards” for risk management and governance a plus.
