We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Operations Manager Stock Borrowing and Lending
 

Responsible for team oversight of post trade support activities such as collateral transaction processing, monitoring and aiding collateral settlement, Back Office vs Back Office reconciliation, contract compare, investigation and remediation of position/cash imbalances as well as fails management and settlement escalations

Activities:

  • Managing oversight for trade monitoring, collateral and settlement operations for USD, MXN, BRL and CAD businesses
  • Lead investigation and resolution of failing transactions for all 4 businesses
  • Act on escalated communications with the Clients for Equity and Treasuries trades
  • Act on any escalation to management or trading desks to protect the firm against risk exposure. 
  • Act as an escalation contact and resolve settlement issues and collateral disputes
  • Review and ensure that risk & control framework and escalation procedures are adhered to.
  • Drive process efficiencies to improve service quality
  • Engage and build strong Business and Operations Management relationships
  • Drive overall business objectives.
  • Manage the team to work in collaboration to resolve issues
  • Achieve set performance benchmark and target for each year
  • Continuous increase of process knowledge thru cross training
  • Engage with onshore business partners in communicating issues and/or escalations
  • Liaise with external clients to resolve issues and/or answer queries
  • Ability to apply judgment to operational situations in a fast-paced environment to drive progress
  • Ensure adequate support for effective management of KRIs, to minimize risk e.g. Nostro/Stock/inter-system breaks

 What you will need to succeed in the role:

  • Has sound understanding and formal qualification of basic Operations Accounting principles
  • Able to demonstrate the mind set and maturity to operate in a fast paced environment
  • Awareness and appreciation to operations risk and control and exception management
  • Ability to implement initiatives and work as part of a team
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to interact with clients/stakeholders
  • Attention to detail and a hands on approach to identify opportunities of process improvement
  • Follow formal escalation framework across all aspects of Operations i.e. operational and systemic related risks
  • Strong awareness and appreciation to operations risk and control and exception management
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to manage local and international relationships across the org.

 What additional skills will be good to have? 

  • 5+ years of experience in cash equities, stock borrowing and lending  
  • Experience in people management is required
  • A degree in Business or Finance would be preferred
  • Ability to multi-task and support multiple stakeholders
  • Able to work in a demanding and time sensitive environment
  • Hands on experience of operations processing is an advantage
  • Familiar working knowledge of associated technology
