PARIS, 75, FR, 75116
At HSBC, our purpose is opening up a world of opportunity and by joining our team, you can be part of something bigger! We are committed to removing barriers and ensuring careers at HSBC are inclusive and accessible.
-
By joining HSBC in France, you’ll contribute to the development and growth of our activities within Markets & Securities Services (MSS) and, more broadly, the Treasury environment. The Markets Treasury (MKTY) team is responsible for managing the entity’s treasury, liquidity and funding in euros and foreign currencies, in compliance with regulatory requirements and Group standards.
What you’ll do:
You’ll contribute to managing the liquidity and funding of HSBC Continental Europe, ensuring forward-looking management of cash positions by currency, executing market transactions and contributing to the monitoring frameworks for regulatory ratios and liquidity risk indicators. You’ll work closely with Risk, Finance and Support Functions teams.
In this role you will:
- Contribute to managing the entity’s liquidity and funding, in compliance with regulatory requirements and internal Group guidelines.
- Ensure forward-looking management of the currencies within the scope: monitor central bank accounts and nostro accounts held with correspondent banks, and manage euro minimum reserve requirements.
- Analyse daily cash flows by currency to establish reliable forecasts and trade in the markets — FX swaps, money markets, repo, bonds and IRS — to balance positions and optimise liquidity.
- Manage liquidity through the management of the LCR and ILM, participate in the ECB’s monetary policy operations, act as the person responsible for Commercial Paper issuance, and contribute to decisions relating to central bank collateral and intraday management.
- Achieve financial objectives while complying with trading and credit limits, AML/CFT requirements and all applicable internal and regulatory rules; formulate market views and trading recommendations, and contribute to managing cross-functional projects aimed at improving desk efficiency.
- Ensure the pricing and centralisation of internal funding for the business lines, subsidiaries and branches within the HSBC Continental Europe scope; contribute to the EURIBOR contribution process in accordance with the EMMI code of conduct and internal procedures; participate in the long-term funding plan, including EMTN governance, pricing and validation procedures, coordination with ALCM, and the centralisation of business requirements for long-term funding, including vanilla and structured notes in coordination with the structured desks.
- Monitor Early Warning Indicators on a daily basis to anticipate any market liquidity risk.
- Execute funding transactions on behalf of HSBC Bank plc – Paris Branch.
- Work daily with the Risk teams — Traded Risk, Compliance and Operational Risk — as well as Finance, Support Functions — MSS Operations and IT — and the Front Office Control Office; operate within the Three Lines of Defence framework and manage operational risk throughout the activities.
- Consistently demonstrate professional, fair and ethical conduct, in line with HSBC’s culture and values, and comply with policies and procedures — Global Principles, Global Policies & Procedures, FIM, DIM, the internal rulebook and the Code of Conduct — particularly in relation to conduct matters such as conflicts of interest and best execution.
You should apply if you have:
- Strong understanding of financial and economic mechanisms, with significant exposure to FX and money markets.
- Solid understanding of the instruments traded: E&D, NeuCP/CD, FX — spot and forward — IRS/OIS, repo/reverse repo and bonds.
- Understanding of banking balance-sheet dynamics and strong knowledge of regulatory ratios, including the LCR, NSFR and leverage ratio.
- Proficiency in market tools such as Bloomberg and Refinitiv, as well as MS Office; advanced programming skills in VBA, Python and SQL.
- A strong team spirit and the ability to build solid working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Professional English is required; proficiency in French is an advantage.
- An academic background meeting the applicable local regulatory requirements for trading and sales activities.
Even if you feel you do not meet 100% of our qualifications, we encourage you to apply, if you believe this role is right for you.
