What you will do:
The key purpose of this role is to be responsible for designing and delivering structured trade and working capital solutions for our corporate and institutional clients. Key responsibilities include providing technical expertise to Front-Line Sales. You’ll partner with frontline, coverage, Product, Credit, Legal, Operations and Implementation teams to originate opportunities, shape bankable structures, and take them from idea through approval to execution—balancing client outcomes, risk discipline and commercial returns. It's a client-facing role, with remit covering all HSBC branches across Europe (excluding the UK).
In this role you will:
- Structure solutions across trade finance and working capital (e.g., import/export finance, receivables discounting, , supply chain finance, Asset Based Lending, Inventory finance, open account solutions
- Support the delivery of revenue to achieve Annual Operating Plan (AOP) targets and maximise the extent to which client needs are met for GTS in the region
- Provide expert direction/advisory subject matter expertise for the completion of complex solutions and execution of a high quality service to our customers. Understand client needs, map flows, identify risks, propose mitigants, and build a clear solution
- Assess gaps in the current offering and feed it back to the Product Management team
- Provide support and technical expertise to the Frontline teams on key deals and clients, liaising with product, implementation and other teams
- Personally, and through others, hold and develop predominant technical expertise in open account solutions (for instance, but not limited to, Receivables Finance, Supply Chain finance, ABLs) across geographies with understanding of trends and market development.
- Prepare high-quality materials: term sheets, credit papers, client proposals, financial/transaction flow diagrams, and implementation plans.
You should apply if you have:
- Extensive knowledge of Trade Finance structures at a global level having experience in multinational financial departments, Receivables Finance, supply chain, pre-export finance, and/or commodity finance.
- Proven track record of having closed large ticket structured trade finance deals
- Thorough understanding of Working Capital management aspects
- Strong financial and analytical skills with very good problem analysis (pointing out problems, recognising important information, establishing connections)
- Demonstrated experience working across a number of international markets
- Broad knowledge of the trends in the Open Account area as they impact Global Multinational Corporate
- Proven knowledge of Receivables Finance, Supply Chain and Open Account propositions and business models.
- Proven ability to navigate and implement inside a cross-functional and matrix organizational model
- Strong independent contributor, who is comfortable working on multiple assignments, where the teams will often be distributed across the region and culturally diverse
- Knowledge of Legal frameworks and capable to manage legal discussions in relation to such Open Account structures.
