What you will do:

The offered role is the replacement of an existing Role in the HBCE Regulatory Compliance (RC) team and corresponds to the Head of Global Payment Solutions RC. The role is responsible for overseeing regulatory compliance risk management, and governance across payment services operations across Continental Europe jurisdictions. The role ensures adherence to European and french regulatory frameworks, strengthens control environments, and provides strategic guidance to business leadership on regulatory obligations and risk management.

 

In this role you will:

  • Lead the compliance framework for wholesale payment services across Continental Europe copuntries, ensuring alignment with EU directives, french regulations, and supervisory expectations.
  • Interpret and translate complex regulatory requirements into practical controls, procedures, and governance processes for the business.
  • Act as a senior advisor to executive management on regulatory developments, supervisory priorities, and compliance implications for payment services activities.
  • Establish and maintain strong compliance governance, including policies, procedures alignment.
  • Support the business in ensuring proper documentation of risk decisions, control design, and regulatory interpretations to meet audit and regulatory expectations.
  • Manage interactions with European regulators and internal governance bodies on compliance matters relating to payment services.
  • Partner with business, operations, and technology teams to embed compliance considerations into product development, payment infrastructure, and operational processes.
  • Provide strategic guidance on regulatory change impacting payment services, launch of new products and support on new business initiatives.
  • Lead and coordinate compliance activities across multiple jurisdictions and stakeholders.
  • Facilitate collaboration between compliance, legal, risk, operations, and business teams to strengthen the overall control environment.

 

You should apply if you have: 

Working Experience: 5–10 years in a Regulatory Compliance or Legal department within Financial/Banking Institutions, consulting or management of a payments business.

Education: Master’s degree (Master 2) in Legal, Compliance, or from a Business Management School.

Hard Skills: 

  • Deep expertise in European financial regulation impacting payment services.
  • Strong understanding of payments infrastructure and transaction processing risks.
  • Proven ability to manage multi-jurisdictional compliance frameworks and regulatory relationships.
  • Strategic thinking combined with strong operational execution and governance discipline.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management and cross-functional leadership capabilities.

Soft Skills: Flexibility, autonomy, ability to adapt in a continuously changing environment, strong relationships with peers and senior management, and the capacity to work closely with international teams.

English: Fluent.

Systems: Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and an appetite for using new IT systems.
