VP – Data Delivery Lead (f/m/d)

At HSBC, our purpose is opening up a world of opportunity and by joining our team, you can be part of something bigger! We are committed to removing barriers and ensuring careers at HSBC are inclusive and accessible.

Here in France, you’ll help evolve and grow our business, providing domain knowledge and driving Data Delivery activities across HBCE to support our decision-makers and ensure our success in line with Group Data Policy, regulatory requirements, and data remediation programmes.

What you will do:

In this role you will report to the HBCE Head of Data and act as the central point of accountability for delivery excellence across the HBCE data portfolio. You will provide transparent visibility of progress, risks, dependencies and outcomes, and ensure delivery teams are set up for success through strong governance, disciplined execution, and effective stakeholder engagement across HBCE, CIB, Technology, Operations and Global Functions. You will also ensure delivery governance activities are aligned with regulatory expectations (including the ECB where applicable) to support compliance with relevant regulatory requirements.

The role holder will be required to produce delivery governance frameworks and artefacts (plans, RAID, milestones, executive reporting, decision logs, evidence packs) to support consistent delivery and avoid “tick-box” governance. You will work closely with stakeholders to ensure delivery outcomes are measurable, controls are evidenced, and that delivery artefacts support regulatory readiness. Tactical decisions introducing technical debt must be documented and progressed through the appropriate risk acceptance and governance approval process, with a clear audit trail.

In this role you will:

•   Act as the central point of accountability for delivery excellence across the HBCE data portfolio, providing transparent visibility of progress, risks, dependencies and outcomes to enable effective prioritisation and decision-making

•   Drive the deployment of global strategic initiatives and delivery framework across initiatives in HBCE Data & Analytics

•   Ensure HBCE data initiatives and solution designs are aligned to the CIB Data Strategy, with a strong focus on adoption of strategic platforms (e.g., the CIB Data Platform) and avoidance of unnecessary tactical divergence

•   Define the Agile project working approach and ensure teams follow the agreed methodology, with clear ceremonies, artefacts, and delivery discipline

•   Lead and coordinate multi-disciplinary delivery teams (data, analytics, technology, delivery) to deliver the data portfolio initiatives, including those spanning multiple workstreams

•   Work with technical discipline leads, data scientists, data engineers and data analysts to produce accurate delivery estimates and manage the transition from analysis to successful delivery

•   Engage delivery and execution teams to identify risks/issues early, remove blockers, and ensure timely escalations through the relevant governance forums where decisions or support are required

•   Provide governance across the delivery of data products, including regulatory reporting and data provisioning for key programmes, ensuring data controls aligned to the data strategy are considered from inception (“compliance by design”) and evidenced through delivery artefacts

•   Support compliance with regulatory requirements, including ECB-driven priorities, ensure clear ownership, milestones, dependencies, and evidence of delivery

•   Actively manage and escalate delivery, control and risk matters through the appropriate HBCE and CIB governance forums, ensuring timely decision-making and clear ownership

•   Ensure any tactical delivery decisions that introduce technical debt are clearly documented (scope, rationale, impact, remediation plan) and progressed through appropriate risk acceptance and governance approval, with clear ownership and timelines

•   Support the delivery production line (definition, implementation, testing) and ensure deliverables meet business requirements and are fit for purpose

•   Drive the sharing of best practices globally in delivery governance, stakeholder management, and documentation standards

You should apply if you have:

•   Significant experience in project management or delivery management, with a focus on large-scale data-related projects/programmes and portfolio-level governance (multi-initiative oversight, dependency management, executive reporting)

•   Strong stakeholder management skills in a complex, global matrix environment, with proven ability to influence, negotiate and drive outcomes across boundaries

•   Strong written and verbal communication skills, including experience creating content for and presenting at senior-level meetings

•   Proven ability to manage multiple initiatives, reconcile conflicting priorities, and know when to re-prioritise or escalate

•   Strong analytical and structured mindset, with business analysis experience (or equivalent) and a track record of delivering high-value/critical outcomes

•   Proficiency in project management tools and MS Office Suite

•   Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple outputs at one time

•   Proven ability to work across multi-disciplinary and diverse work environments

•   A degree (e.g., MBA with bachelor’s in engineering, or master’s in Economics/Mathematics/Statistics or other numerical discipline) or equivalent relevant experience

•   Knowledge and understanding of financial services/banking operations preferred; knowledge of data modelling and architecture is an added advantage

•   Relevant Agile certifications (e.g., Certified Scrum Master, SAFe, LeSS, DAD) are a plus; large-scale transformation programme experience is a plus

•   Specialist knowledge of data management, data risk, customer data management, with a robust knowledge of data management challenges in complex organizations, and advanced Excel skills

•   Strong oral and written communication and presentation skills in English

•   Proven interpersonal influence and negotiation skills with experience in a complex global environment, demonstrating excellent stakeholders’ relationship management skills at multiple levels of the organisation

•   Self-starter with proven problem-solving skills with the ability to consider alternative and innovative solutions

•   Relevant knowledge of the regulatory and other external requirements impacting the business
