Here in France, you’ll help evolve and grow our business, providing domain knowledge and driving Data Management activities across HBEU, to support our decision makers and ensure our success regarding Group Data Policy, Regulatory requirements, and Data Remediation programmes.  

 

 

What you will do:  

 

In this role you will report to the HBEU Data Management Director and will be responsible for supporting the overall data activities across HBEU to drive robust and effective data management in support of the HBEU COO, while leveraging the established CIB (Corporate and Institutional Banking) Data Operating Model.  

 

The role holder will be required to produce frameworks and other artefacts to assist the business with the implementation of best-practice data management and work closely with stakeholders to ensure data governance practices are implemented to derive business benefits and not ‘tick box’ exercises. 

 

The role holder must also have stakeholder management and communication skills to support the HBEU Data Management team to successfully engage within and outside HBEU, to enable development and implementation of master data managementThis will include the hosting of relevant meetings, forums and working groups as necessary. 

 

 

In this role you will: 

 

  • Assist the Data Management Director with driving the Data Controls Strategy within the HBEU Data & Analytics organisation, working alongside the Director and other peers to assist in creating and delivering a robust data governance and management strategy, that achieves a consistent, consolidated data environment upon which the CIB business operates, demonstrating adherence to Group Data Management policy 

  • Identify, raise, and mitigate risks associated with data usage and practices across HBEU 

  • Demonstrate understanding of the HBEU business needs, alongside the Global CIB business and product Strategies, market insights and translating those into solution requirements, working with internal clients to understand their needs and requirements in respect to the services the CIB & HBEU Data & Analytics provides 

  • Manage relationships with internal stakeholders, regulators, and industry partners, and represent HBEU in Group-wide data strategy initiatives where required 

  • Take a proactive approach in monitoring the market and technology developments likely to be relevant to the HBEU Data & Analytics organisation 

  • Provide technical expertise to develop the architecture for Data solutions and associated target operating models 

  • Ensure effective data governance and remediation, being a trusted source adoption and driving transformation-related projects to progress to the target data infrastructure is critical to HBEU transformation success 

  • Research latest industry trends, embedding into projects and day-to-day deliverables as appropriate, ensuring ensure the Bank meets and exceeds its regulatory and compliance obligations, and that well-managed data is seen as a strategic asset 

  • Contribute to wider data control innovation initiatives across HBEU, and the broader CIB group, anticipating future business needs and requirements and developing plans and proposals, influencing the agenda of other stakeholders based on data strategy ideas and thought leadership 

  • Facilitate root cause analysis, review, and resolution support of cross line of business data issues raised as part of business self-certification, audit, or external regulators 

  • Drive the sharing of best practices globally, in terms of technical approaches, stakeholder management, and general project management and documentation 

  • Collaborate with other data teams to create sustainable technology led solutions that drive effective decision making for the HBEU business (Data Compliance & Adoption, Data Business Architecture & Technology, Data Digitisation & Tooling) 

 

 

You should apply if you have:  

 

  • Specialist knowledge of data management, data risk, customer data management, with a great knowledge of data management challenges in complex organizations, and great Excel skills 

  • Great oral and written communication and presentation skills in English 

  • Proven interpersonal influence and negotiation skills with experience in a complex global environment, demonstrating excellent stakeholders relationship management skills at multiple levels of the organisation 

  • Self-starter with proven problem-solving skills with ability to consider alternative and innovative solutions 

  • Ability to reconcile multiple conflicting priorities and develop action plans that meet both short- and long-term business needs 

  • Ability to work in fast-paced environment with proven ability to handle multiple outputs at one-time 

  • Proven ability in working across multi-disciplinary and diverse work environments. 

  • A degree in Finance or Data Management, or equivalent, with a first Data Management related successful experience (ideally 3 years or more) and a first Financial Services experience (ideally 3 years or more, too)  

  • Relevant knowledge of the regulatory and other external requirements impacting data desirable
