What you will do:

 

The HBCE Compliance Department includes the Financial Crime (FC) and Regulatory Compliance (RC) activities. One of its key roles is to oversight and monitor the respect of the global and local requirements across HSBC Continental Europe. The Department also ensures the control’s efficiency of the non-compliance risks framework within HBCE.

 

The Continental Europe Financial Crime (FC) Advisory team reports into the HBCE Head of Financial Crime European Union. This is a Financial Crime team which provides support and advice to the Corporate and Institutional Banking (CIB Banking), Capital Markets and Advisory (CMA) and Markets (MSS) activities. The team also works closely with functional stakeholders as well as senior management.

 

The team is based in Paris but must have strong interaction and good relationship with Financial Crime teams in London and across the Continental Europe countries.

 

In this role, with a team of eight persons dedicated to specific risks or advice, you will exercize a leadership role in:

 

  • Supervising the AML, AB&C, Tax evasion and Sanctions risks to which CIB and MSS are exposed to
  • Guiding them to ensure an appropriate and seamless implementation of the Global and French Policy and procedure requirements
  • Delivering a Risk Stewarship role supporting them in the identification and mitigation of FC risks, designing approach and guidance for specific activites, defining with them remediation action plans where necessary and looking for simplification
  • Providing approval on specific sensitive cases  
  • Managing the team by providing with a positive leadership, ensuring objectives are met, advice is provided on a timely manner and promoting a positive culture of compliance risks 
  • Collaborating actively with the ten HSBC Continental Europe sites by providing them proactively oversight of FC risks and supporting them in the management of risks with the goal to prevent and manage the risks on a seamless approach
  • Participating to several Business and function risks committees and forums providing with key messages and contributions

 

You should apply if you have:

 

  • A strong experience in managing risks
  • A strong leadership skill and capacity to support in one hand the Business in their growth plans, settling limits and convincing senior managers as well as Business and in another hand the CE sites and the team in making them grow
  • A strong ability to review and digest a significant amount of information
  • Legal/Consulting/Compliance backgroud, a Master 2 in Legal or Compliance or Business Management Schools, Financial/Banking experience a must
  • Are fluent in French and English
