What you will do:

 

This role will report to the HBCE Governance Manager and will be responsible for supporting the HBCE Data and Analytics Functions to establish and drive an effective data strategy for the HBCE and CIB Head of Data.

The Governance Analyst will be implementing robust governance to ensure that data is not only fit for purpose, but an enterprise asset that drives superior business performance. This will include ensuring alignment to a common framework and capability as well as focusing on data strategy, roadmaps, and objectives. The Governance Analyst will work closely with data leads and provide support where needed to drive governance initiatives.

The role holder must also have strong communication skills to support the HBCE Governance Manager to successfully engage with the business and functions to enable development and implementation of the HSBC Data Strategy.

 

 

In this role you will:

 

  • Establish centralised OKR’s and assume the responsibility of tracking these effectively.
  • Responsible for ensuring that the HBCE Data Strategy is fully aligned to the Group Data Strategy.
  • Track and guide the functions BoW’s.
  • Support in establishing Forums for the HBCE and CIB Head of Data and Analytics.
  • Formulate guiding objectives for the functions.
  • Collate monthly information requests and present them effectively.
  • Collaborate with the different functions to ensure and confirm the strategies are aligned to customer needs.
  • Oversight and track the function’s reporting and regulatory data requirements.
  • Enable and facilitate the digitalization of the HBCE Data and Analytics space.
  • Build consensus among cross-functional teams and influence decision making within senior-level audiences.
  • Drive and build awareness of the data strategy.
  • Support execution against recommendations quickly and with flawless accuracy.
  • Support data initiatives across HBCE Data and Analytics
  • Design and implement Data led comms and events roadmap for Culture & Conduct / Data Literacy across our Data Community in HBCE
  • Improve HBCE Data and Analytics visibility through effective communication, maintain HBCE Data and Analytics space and build relationships with key stakeholders across the businesses we support.
  • Building relationships with key stakeholders, enabling the functions’ ability to execute
  • Anticipates future business needs and requirements and develops plans and proposals accordingly.
  • Influences the agenda of other stakeholders based on own ideas aligning the same with the organization goals.
  • Responsible for ensuring that the Bank meets and exceeds its regulatory and compliance obligations, and that well-managed data is seen as a strategic asset.
  • Work closely with Data Leads to support and deliver product governance initiatives.
  • Drive the sharing of best practices Internally, in terms of technical approaches, stakeholder management, and general project management and documentation.
  • Look externally via wider personal network and own research to identify, understand, and translate for HBCE Data and Analytics key emerging trends in analytics practice across financial services, FinTech(s) and other sectors.
  • Leverages relationships with other Data teams.
  • Collaborate with the Data teams Globally to create sustainable technology led solutions that drive effective decision making across HBCE Data and Analytics.

  • Collaborate following teams: Data Management Data Compliance & Adoption, Data Business Architecture & Technology, and Data Digitisation & Tooling to create bespoke and ongoing solutions that drive effective decision making across the HBCE Data and Analytics remit.

  • 2+ years of relevant experience in Financial Services.

  • Proven ability in working across multi-disciplinary and diverse work environments.
  • Strong Excel skills
  • Ability to create effective relationships, influence, and collaborate internally and externally at all organizational levels.
