Internal Audit

Global Internal Audit provides independent, objective assurance to management and the risk and audit committees as to whether the framework of risk management, control, and governance processes, as designed and represented by management, is adequate and functioning. This team with skilled business, process, data, change, and culture analysts helps HSBC to achieve its strategic purpose, safely and sustainably. 

 

We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team.

 

In this role, you will:

Participate or lead individual audit to ensure that the scope, approach, resourcing and logistics of an audit are appropriately planned and individual audit is executed in line with internal requirements and timelines;
Based on audit fieldwork, drafts audit findings which articulate key issues and risks and propose root causes;
Identifies business process improvements for areas audited as appropriate; 
Ensure that the results of the work and ad hoc assignments performed by the team meets the expectations of audit and business management and the regulators;
Maintain consistent interaction with business management; and
Maintain HSBC internal control standards, implement and observe Group Compliance Policy and maintain awareness of operational risk.

 

To be successful in the role, you should meet the following requirements:

Proven and progressive audit, business, risk management and/or accounting experience or equivalent. 
Minimum of a bachelor's degree in business, accounting, finance, related field or equivalent experience;
Good understanding of the business, risks (e.g. Treasury, Credit, Operational Risk, etc.), accounting and related controls within areas of responsibility;
Knowledge of Data Analytics and ability to apply technology or expertise to business issues or operational problems is desirable, but not essential;
Good managerial skills, written and verbal communication skills, analytical, problem-solving, organizational, lateral thinking and interpersonal skills;
Strong teamwork spirit and good commitment to the work;
Broad knowledge of the Company, Group and financial services industry, business supported and the regulatory framework they operate in; 
Ideally hold role relevant qualifications; and
Fluent in spoken and written English and Mandarin.
