The offered role is available in the Portfolio Management team supporting Structured Real Estate and Aviation & Maritime Finance.
What you will do:
Structured Real Estate Finance sits within Corporate & Institutional Banking (CIB) within HSBC Continental Europe. The department provides structured financing solutions and corporate facilities for leading institutional investors and investment funds, insurance companies and real estate companies covering all type of asset class (Residential, Office, Retail, Industrial, Hospitality, etc.) and located in Continental Europe.
As a Portfolio Manager, you will join a front office team of five who are working closely with colleagues in charge of originating and executing structured real estate deals. Teams are primarily based in Paris but also across Continental Europe. From time to time, you may also have the opportunity to contribute to the portfolio management of aviation and maritime financings.
In this role you will:
You will be responsible for the ongoing management of a portfolio of financings from post-closing through to full repayment, with responsibilities including
- Monitoring of transactions and post-closing management: overseeing financings after closing until the full repayment. This includes processing drawdown requests, consent and waiver requests as well as setting up internal tracking tools and following up borrower’s compliance with the contractual obligations.
- Annual reviews and credit oversight:
At deal level: preparing annual review including rating review, financial analysis and reassessment of the budget or client’s financial models, driving collateral valuation update exercises.
For the consolidated portfolio: producing portfolio analysis and presentation to credit or other internal committees on a regular basis. Monitoring of Watch List cases.

- Client relationship management: maintaining relationship with clients/sponsors, other lenders and agents linked to the financings including discussions and negotiations on waiver requests.
- Financial reporting: prepare business, risk and regulatory reporting ensuring accuracy, consistency and timely delivery
- Regulatory compliance: contributing to answers for regulators and auditors
This role offers hands-on exposure to structured finance and real estate fundamentals within a leading international banking environment. You’ll develop an in-depth understanding of complex transactions and portfolio dynamics. You will interact daily with a broad range of stakeholders across the bank (Credit, Coverage, Middle Office and other support teams) in multiple countries.
You should apply if you have:
- Relevant experience in structured finance, corporate banking, credit risk or portfolio management, exposure to real estate related transactions is an advantage
- Credit and financial analysis skills, including the ability to review financials, business plans and valuations materials.
- Understanding of loan documentation and lifecycle management (covenants, reporting undertakings, conditions, waivers/consents, amendments).
- Highly organized and detail oriented, able to manage multiple transactions and deadlines, proactive, adaptable and comfortable working in a fast-changing environment
- Ownership mindset and teamwork
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Languages: fluent French and English
