We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our team as Head of Equity Brokerage based in Malaysia to play a leadership role in our self-directed brokerage business. This role is responsible for the definition, design and execution of digital marketing campaigns, client engagement and servicing, dispute resolution and client experience, and sales force mobilization.

 

Principal responsibilities

 

  • Own the brokerage product portfolio (e.g., equities, ETFs), including product vision, value proposition, and lifecycle management.
  • Define and deliver the product strategy and multi-year roadmap, aligned to customer needs, market trends, and business priorities.
  • Drive commercial performance: pricing/fees, revenue growth, client adoption, margin, cost-to-serve, and client retention.
  • Lead product discovery: customer research, competitor analysis, data insights, journey mapping, and prioritization.
  • Translate strategy into execution: write clear requirements (epics/user stories), set acceptance criteria, and partner with Tech teams to deliver reliably.
  • Oversee product governance: product approvals, target market definition, product documentation, disclosures, and ongoing suitability/appropriateness controls.
  • Ensure strong conduct and regulatory outcomes: work with Compliance/Risk/Legal to meet market conduct, investor protection, AML/sanctions, data privacy, and best execution obligations (as relevant to jurisdiction).
  • Manage end-to-end operating model impacts: onboarding, order placement, corporate actions, settlements, client reporting/statements, complaints handling, and service processes.
  • Own key vendor/exchange/broker relationships where applicable (platform providers, execution brokers, market data, custody/clearing partners), including service levels and change delivery.
  • Establish and monitor product KPIs (conversion, active traders/investors, AUM flows, order volumes, drop-off, NPS, operational incidents, risk events).
  • Act as a senior stakeholder manager, presenting product performance and roadmap to governance forums and leadership committees.

 

 

 Requirements

 

  • Capital Markets Services Representative’s License (CMSRL) Holder
  • Significant experience (min. 10 years) in brokerage / wealth / investments product management, preferably owning a brokerage product or trading platform end-to-end.
  • Strong understanding of brokerage concepts and flows: order lifecycle, trading venues, execution, settlement, custody, corporate actions, fees and charges, and client communications.
  • Proven track record delivering digital product change in an agile environment, partnering closely with engineering and architecture teams.
  • Experience navigating risk, regulatory and governance requirements for investment products (requirements vary by market; experience in at least one major regulatory environment preferred).
  • Demonstrated commercial acumen: pricing, P&L drivers, business cases, and portfolio prioritisation.
  • Excellent stakeholder management - able to influence Technology, Ops, Risk, Compliance, Legal, and Distribution.
