Job description

Role Purpose

We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join the Treasury Liquidity function within our Finance team.

 

This role will focus on steering the bank’s financial resources through liquidity and FTP levers, with particular emphasis on cross-currency liquidity management, Funds Transfer Pricing (FTP) and balance sheet deployment governance. The role holder will provide Treasury advisory and challenge to business lines and partner functions, provide proactive market and financial resource insights to senior management particularly during periods of volatility, and drive targeted enhancements to metrics, monitoring and processes to strengthen liquidity risk management and better influence business behaviour and financial resource outcomes across the entity/region.

 

In this role, you will:

  • Optimise deployment of liquidity and funding resources while ensuring the bank operates within risk appetite and applicable governance requirements.
  • Drive ongoing liquidity and funding monitoring and forecasting for AMH and HBAP, including liaison with business and sites on liquidity optimisation and steering, both at total and single currency levels, based on the forecasted liquidity positions
  • Drive the Financial Resource Planning (FRP) process from liquidity and funding perspective for AMH and HBAP to project the funding/ financial resource requirements, impact on liquidity and funding metrics and ensure the long-term liquidity and funding management is aligned with business strategy and the bank’s risk appetite
  • Own and enhance liquidity risk management and stress testing frameworks (including cross-currency liquidity management), covering methodology, limit calibration, monitoring and escalation.
  • Review and advise on bespoke intragroup/client transactions, assessing liquidity/FTP impacts and ensuring appropriate documentation and controls.
  • Provide market and financial resource insights for senior management during periods of volatility; maintain and enhance dashboards/MI in response to evolving management needs.
  • Prepare analysis, inputs and/or papers for governance forums and committees, supporting decision-making on liquidity, funding and financial resource topics.
  • Support regulatory engagements as and when required, including ad-hoc enquiries and periodic liquidity updates on liquidity risk matters.
  • Build effective working relationships across Treasury, Risk, Finance and business stakeholders, and contribute to coaching/delegation within the team.

 

The ideal candidate for this role will have:

  • Solid experience in Treasury/ALM covering liquidity risk management and/or FTP in a banking environment.
  • Good understanding of cross-currency liquidity dynamics, regulatory and internal liquidity metrics/limits and the interaction with balance sheet management.
  • Knowledge of Markets business is a plus.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate data and market developments into actionable insights.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with confidence engaging and influencing across functions and business lines (including Markets).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to express complex concepts clearly and concisely for senior audiences.
  • Proven capacity to prioritise tasks and manage multiple competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills.
  • Ownership mindset with sound judgement, and the ability to coach others and delegate effectively.
