Job description
We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as a Investment Counsellor.
In this role you will:
- Responsible for the positioning and delivery of portfolio oriented investment solutions to clients and prospects of the HSBC Private Bank.
- Partner with Relationship Managers to offer investment solutions to clients within client risk profile.
- Attract and enhance client relationships and business opportunities.
- Accountable for assessing client need, developing and communicating a comprehensive portfolio investment strategy, coordinating advice and execution against that strategy, and monitoring performance and appropriateness of the client’s overall investment portfolio against pre-agreed risk profile.
- Monitor client portfolios for performance, appropriateness and opportunity. Provide updates on investment opportunities to clients, prospects and Relationship Managers.
- Coordinate with Investment Services and Product Solutions Group team members to ensure consistency of strategic and tactical approach.
- Provide input and support for the development of new business initiatives and product enhancement. Maintain current knowledge of competitors’ investment capabilities, product offering and pricing policies.
- Identify and communicate issues or limitations related to product, platform, operations, systems or pricing.
- Ensure integrity of sales process and compliance with all HSBC and regulatory policies. Follow HSBC Global Standards in compliance and risk control, and champion HSBC Values.
To be successful you will need:
- Extensive knowledge of private banking business, competitive and regulatory environment.
- Solid portfolio advisory skills and experience.
- Client-focused, with strong sales, analytic, technical, teamwork and relationship building skills.
- Strong negotiation, complex problem resolution, communication and presentation (written and oral) skills.
- Sound judgment, keen sense of urgency, and high level of professional and personal integrity
- Chartered Financial Analyst or other related qualifications preferred.
- Holder of Hong Kong Monetary Authority and Securities Futures Commission Type 1 and 4
