We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Assistant Vice President - Tax Custody.

 

In this role, you will:

  • To work with Tax Technical Senior Manager to effectively research, analyse, understand, implement and manage changing regulatory requirements of worldwide tax regimes. In addition, the jobholder is to contribute to the profitability and growth of the markets and security services client base by delivering excellent client service experience and striving to enhance existing institutional relationships through improved service and developing a service model and reputation that also attracts new business.
  • To contribute to the maintenance of an effective quality service and reduce client risk to a minimum by ensuring that all work is processed within agreed timelines and complex client queries are responded to within 24 hours or agreed timeframe.
  • To decipher new market information and access the impact on HSBC and our clients – notifying clients accordingly. By obtaining external data, cross checking against other resources and tax treaties, implementing updating procedures as appropriate.
  • To undertake Tax related Project work as required. To ensure that all client tax related static is maintained and accurate. Investigating and resolving queries and exceptions within set targets. Report to clients results of all investigation work during regular client meetings.
  • To ensure that all Tax related static held within markets and security services systems including all standard market and treaty rates are correct and fully reconciled. To comply with all current regulatory requirements contributing to successful Tax authority audits.To maintain statistics and produce management information. Provide support to Tax Transparent Funds. Provide guidance and support on Stamp Duty Reserve Tax to Custody Tax & our clients
  • Provide technical support to Tax Logistics. Develop and maintain relationships and internal reporting to support processing efficiencies, improved client service and/or reduced operational/client risk. Support the other business areas with technical and market knowledge to aid efficient and accurate responses to client queries, client on boarding, new markets & products in respect of department activities.
  • Manage, required periodic reporting related to Tax Transparent Funds. Drive continuous Tax Transparent Funds delivery improvement based on the learning driven out by BAU knowledge. Oversee adherence to standard tools, processes and practices for all Tax Transparent Funds activity within Tax Services. Manage and control processing risk around Tax Transparent Funds and ensure appropriate contingencies are provided.
  • Manage the Custody Tax systems process, work with IT to ensure continued development takes place to Xceptor and Bancs as per the requirements of Custody Tax.
