We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Assistant Manager – Tax Operations.
In this role, you will:
- Fund Tax Operation function is to manage all Tax relevant functions for computing accurate Tax Liabilities, ensuring the Tax Data within the systems are accurate and complete for the client to report Tax information’s correctly by adhering to specific Tax rules.
- The Tax operation function is also responsible to determine distributable income of the Funds on a periodic basis, in accordance with the Funds constitution Fund Tax Operation function would also be responsible for tax compliance, regulatory filing, vendor oversight, providing support and insight to internal stakeholders in relation to tax issues or requirements impacting funds we service/administer for clients.
- Provide daily operations support to ensure all controls are carried out accordingly as required. This will allow additional layer of control to prevent Operational Loss, Reputational Risk, etc.
- Primary contact for the business and clients for escalation issues. To ensure all dispute processes are aligned globally to mitigate risk and gain on efficiency. Adherence to Regulatory Standards and Laws: Ensure compliance with relevant internal policies, laws, regulatory rules, guidance, and expectations.
- Responsible for the continuous adhering to complying with Process controls & checks in the process to mitigate Operational Risk.
- To prepare and complete Tax activities for the Tax regimes as per the applicable regulation, rules and provisions. To Train the new joiners and provide refreshers to activities to the team members. To manage the client deliveries within agreed PLA, including managing internal, external stake holders
- To have the KPI’s green for all the Tax Regimes. To stay updated on the Tax regimes and share knowledge within the Team. To look for issues & opportunities and streamline the process to be faster, leaner and accurate
- To work with the Managers and departments in such as Accounting and valuation and other departments, tax support on key issues. The candidate should also be able to respond promptly to day-to-day tax issues. Ensure completion of all mandatory training on time. Preform any additional responsibilities that may be required by the manager.
To be successful, you will:
- Knowledge of ICON, OneSource, MFGA, Geneva, GTAP and Sage (corporation tax module) would be useful but not essential. The role requires taxation professional knowledge experience and deal with various Tax Regimes.
- The role is managing company's daily, weekly, fortnightly, monthly, quarterly, semi-annually and annual Taxation activities and will closely work internally with other upstream & downstream teams.
- Need to work closely internally with other function and Ops team like Accounting and Valuation
- Need to work closely externally for service providers and manage/monitor the deliverables
- Keep updated to latest tax regulation.
- A university degree in any discipline. Higher qualification not a bar provided aspirations commensurate with the position.
- 2 + financial working experience working experience in taxation, with exposure to communication with external regulation authorities and internal senior management team.
- Knowledge and experience in Accounting & Valuation of Hedge fund.
