Corporate and Investment Banking Coverage teams support Swiss-headquartered clients and overseas multinationals which have local or regional operations or subsidiaries. Our services enable corporate and institutional clients to make the most of new opportunities in domestic markets, carry out cross-border transactions, and expand internationally. 

We are looking for a Senior Sales Manager GPS in our Zurich office focusing specifically on Swiss corporate clients covering business development, client acquisition, continuing relationship management, and providing the necessary support through the effective positioning of Global Payment Solutions (GPS) products both locally and globally.

What you will do: 

The Senior Sales Manager GPS contributes directly to revenues and margins, the competitiveness of the bank, and relies on exceptional execution and implementation of HSBC’s business, financial, and strategic goals in Switzerland. 

In this role you will:

  • Sell and support HSBC GPS for corporate clients in Switzerland and across the HSBC network
  • Develop, manage and grow a portfolio of Switzerland-headquartered corporate clients, driving acquisition and relationship deepening
  • Act as a cash management sparring partner for external clients (Treasurers and Treasury teams) and internal stakeholders, including Relationship Managers
  • Lead and contribute to complex sales opportunities and deal structuring, including RFI (Request for Information) / RFP (Request for Proposal) responses and solution design
  • Advise clients on efficient transaction banking structures, liquidity solutions and relevant investment options
  • Own escalation management for cash management issues, coordinating with product, implementation and client service teams to deliver timely resolution
  • Partner with Client Connectivity and implementation teams to ensure solutions are delivered accurately and within agreed timelines
  • Support coverage teams with GPS product expertise, manage CRM (Customer Relationship Management) /pipeline activity, and contribute to profitability management, plan tracking and variance analysis

You should apply if you have:

  • Deep understanding of GPS, Sales, or Treasury track record; demonstrably strong Product / Technical Payments and Liquidity knowledge (ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning), TMS (Treasury Management Systems), Channels, Swift, APIs (Application Programming Interfaces), File Formats, Liquidity Products, Pooling, Digital Assets & Currencies, tokenization, etc.)
  • Excellent network within large corporate clients in Switzerland
  • Very strong interpersonal skills to interact appropriately with Client senior management
  • Excellent communication and written skills
  • Fluent in English - German and French languages are considered valuable but not a pre-requisite
  • Pro-active, ability to work in a team
  • Accurately interpret and analyze results with attention to detail
  • Results driven and committed to meet deadlines
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, understand and escalate issues, ability to acquire new skills and assist colleagues
  • Thorough awareness of market needs and competitive environment
  • Ability to structure innovative solutions to complex payments and collections problems
  • Proficient knowledge of local country market regulations
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office suite (Excel, PowerPoint and Word)
