The Associate will report to the sector head and work closely with the Global Relationship Bankers and their deputies in covering a portfolio of leading Switzerland Headquartered multinational corporates.

What you will do:

The Senior Associate and Deputy Global Relationship Banker is working closely with and is supporting the Global Relationship Bankers in covering a portfolio of leading Switzerland Headquartered global multinational corporates. The position holder will join the Industry & Transport Sector team. Main responsibilities include acting as point of contact for clients and managing relationship and product teams across the world to provide pro-active support in deepening client relationships and improving income generation through focused business development activities. The Deputy Global Relationship Banker will drive product sales opportunities and lead the due diligence and execution of new business opportunities and implement successfully won transactions. 

In this role you will:

 

  • Focused contribution against targets for revenue generation, product alignment, customer satisfaction and cost containment
  • Increase HSBC’s share of wallet with our clients
  • Act as primary point of contact for clients and internal colleagues
  • Identify strategies to maintain / enhance overall relationship return and ensure early identification of potential credit issues
  • Provide high quality industry sector, competitor and client level analysis to support business development, portfolio management and credit risk assessment
  • Identify marketing opportunities, undertaking appropriate analysis and preparation of proposals, presentations and pitches for new products and services
  • Provide general support to the Global Relationship Banker in servicing client relationships and enhancing income generation
  • Prepare client meetings materials and presentations as well as briefing notes in advance of key client meetings, and where relevante participate in and contribute to the high quality of client meetings.
  • Work with Credit Operations on the preparation of structured and focused application remarks for clients, covering annual reviews and new money proposals
  • Complete review and submission of credit risk returns including limit excess/exception, security/documentation outstanding, monthly credit control reports etc
  • Understand and ensure compliance with all relevant internal and external rules, regulations and procedures that apply to the conduct of the business in which the jobholder is involved
  • Maintain HSBC internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators
  • Play a key role on risk management of the portfolio with oversight and satisfactory management of credit risk, KYC and any other financial crime risk and reputational risk aspects

 

You should apply if you have:

 

  • Relevant experience and proven track record in corporate banking with a background in relationship management and  credit risk management.
  • Strong team player and demonstrate a high level of attention to details, strong organizational and multi-tasking skills and willingness to be a driven self-starter
  • Being proactive, autonomous, self-motivated, high energy, able to succeed in a fast-paced environment
  • Degree in relevant discipline (Finance, Accounting etc) or other similar qualification
  • Written and spoken English fluency. Second language fluency in German, French or Italian is a positive
  • Understanding of risk management and credit mitigants
  • Knowledge of the full spectrum of Corporate & Institutional Banking products and services
  • Strong business development, financial analysis and analytical skills
  • Ability to undertake in depth review of industry, competitors, client and products and provide a high-quality analysis of Credit risk
  • Experience with managing global and multi product client relationships
  • Being comfortable engaging with clients and colleagues globally
  • Knowledge of banking regulatory evolutions
  • Ability to develop good working partnerships with credit, client’s management and product teams
  • Ability to establish rapport with appropriate members of client’s management team
  • Strong IT skills (including Word, Excel, Powerpoint etc)
  • Good prioritising, organisational and time management abilities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment
  • Hands-on attitude being able to cope with a wide range of different requirements because CIB Switzerland is a branch
