The Opportunity:

What you’ll do:

1.    Establish and maintain the community of Android / iOS engineers across the Mobile Foundation, Channel Transformation and beyond.
2.    Lead (and govern the adoption of) the definition of the 'HSBC way' of engineering Android / iOS mobile apps.
3.    Helping with designing, maintaining and improving the CI/CD tools and build pipelines
4.    Collaborate with technical leaders and product owners to contribute to product and project strategy, code standards, roadmap definition, and requirements gathering.
5.    Collaborate with the recruiting team and regional Heads of Engineering to attract, onboard and retain diverse top talent.
6.    Advocate and advance modern software development practices within the Android / iOS engineering community.
7.    Participate in broader discussions about mobile software architecture.
8.    Grow the technical expertise of the Android / iOS engineering community.
9.    Work closely with teams, product owners, agile coaches and other stakeholders to ensure we deliver world-class tools and capabilities for our Android / iOS engineering community.
10.    Actively participate in the Mobile Engineering Discipline and associated communities.

Qualifications:

1.    BSc/BA in Computer Science, Engineering or related field.
2.    Native experience.
3.    Experience as Android / iOS Engineer in a large-scale mobile engineering environment.
4.    Participating in technical Show & Tells.
5.    Passionate about open source ways of working.
6.    You have experience in fostering a strong engineering culture in an agile and DevOps environment.
7.    Track record of identifying and implementing opportunities to enable Android / iOS engineers to develop more productively and with high quality.
8.    Experience collaborating effectively across multiple engineering centers in multiple territories.
9.    Advocate for quality.
10.    Be an ambassador for writing testable code.
11.    Gatekeeper for definition of done.
12.    Document solutions.
13.    Write blog articles.
