We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Consultant Specialist.

Business: Hong Kong Technology

Principal responsibilities

• Lead the architecture, design and delivery of Java backend services that meet business, security, performance and resilience needs.
• Develop and review high-quality code using Java, Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, microservices and RESTful application programming interfaces.
• Translate business requirements into pragmatic technical solutions, delivery plans and clearly defined engineering tasks.
• Set and promote engineering standards for code quality, automated testing, secure development, documentation and observability.
• Provide technical direction, coaching and constructive code reviews to help engineers deliver effectively and grow their capabilities.
• Collaborate with product, architecture, testing, infrastructure and operations teams to manage dependencies and deliver end-to-end outcomes.
• Improve continuous integration and continuous delivery pipelines, deployment automation and cloud or container-based runtime practices.
• Support production services, lead root-cause analysis and drive improvements in stability, capacity, security and technical debt.

Requirements

• Strong hands-on expertise in Java and the Spring ecosystem, including Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, microservices and RESTful application programming interface development.
• Demonstrated ability to lead technical design and delivery, make sound engineering decisions and mentor software engineers.
• Solid knowledge of distributed-system design, design patterns, data modelling, performance tuning, security and resilient architecture.
• Experience with relational and non-relational databases, such as PostgreSQL or MongoDB, including effective query and schema design.
• Proficiency in automated testing, Git-based development, build tools and continuous integration and continuous delivery practices.
• Experience supporting production systems through monitoring, incident resolution, root-cause analysis and sustainable remediation.
• Strong communication, stakeholder-management and problem-solving skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in an Agile team.
