We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Consultant Specialist.

Business: Hong Kong Technology 

Principal responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain backend services and APIs using Java, Spring and Spring Boot.
• Build and evolve microservices that support secure, intuitive customer self-service journeys.
• Participate in technical design, solution discussions and estimation.
• Produce clean, maintainable and well-documented code; apply refactoring and code-review practices to improve quality continuously.
• Write and maintain automated unit, integration and API tests, and address defects found through testing and production feedback.
• Build, maintain and improve CI/CD pipelines for automated build, test and deployment activities.
• Deploy and operate applications on Kubernetes and GCP in line with engineering, security and change-management standards.
• Work with SRE and Production Support teams to improve logging, monitoring, alerting, troubleshooting, incident analysis and service resilience.
• Collaborate in an Agile team with product owners, UI engineers, QA engineers and other stakeholders to deliver business projects iteratively.
• Identify delivery, technical and operational risks proactively, communicate them clearly and drive practical resolutions.

Requirements

• Strong hands-on experience in Java and the Spring ecosystem, particularly Spring Boot, RESTful APIs, microservices, relational databases and SQL.
• Experience with Git, CI/CD and application deployment on Kubernetes and cloud platforms; GCP experience is preferred.
• Strong automated testing mindset, including unit, integration and API testing.
• Practical understanding of clean code, refactoring, design principles and code review.
• Ability to use logs, metrics and traces to monitor, diagnose and troubleshoot service issues.
• Understanding of secure coding, API security, access control and software delivery controls.
• Experience working in Agile teams and collaborating effectively with engineers, product owners, QA, architects, operations and business stakeholders.
• Proactive, accountable and analytical approach to problem solving, with strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
