We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Consultant Specialist.

Principal responsibilities

• Architecture & Technical Leadership: Lead the end-to-end technical design and architecture of scalable, highly available, and secure enterprise applications. Make key technical decisions regarding API strategies, cloud deployments, and CRM integrations.
• Backend & API Engineering: Design, develop, and maintain high-performance, secure RESTful APIs and microservices using Java and the Spring ecosystem.
• Microsoft Dynamics Integration: Drive the customisation, extension, and seamless integration of Microsoft Dynamics 365 solutions with the bank's core Java/Cloud backend systems.
• Cloud Development: Architect and deploy applications on AWS, ensuring scalability, resilience, and compliance with HSBC’s strict cloud security frameworks.
• Engineering Excellence & DevOps: Champion agile delivery practices. Drive CI/CD pipeline automation, unit testing (TDD/BDD), and stringent code review processes to maintain the highest code quality.
• Mentorship & Team Enablement: Act as a technical mentor for junior and mid-level developers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and technical excellence within the pod.
• Global Collaboration: Partner with global Product Owners, Business Analysts, Enterprise Architects, and operations teams across different time zones to translate complex business requirements into technical deliverables.

Requirements

• Java & Backend: Expert-level proficiency in Java (v11/17+) and the Spring Framework (Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, Spring Security). Proven track record in designing and implementing complex Microservices and secure RESTful APIs.
• Cloud Platform (AWS): Extensive practical experience with AWS services (e.g., EKS, EC2, Lambda, S3, RDS, API Gateway, IAM). Solid understanding of cloud security and networking principles.
• Microsoft Dynamics: Proven experience in Microsoft Dynamics 365 development and configuration. Familiarity with creating custom plugins, workflows, Dataverse, Power Platform, and integrating MS Dynamics with external enterprise APIs.
• DevOps & Containerisation: Strong proficiency in Docker and Kubernetes. Hands-on experience with CI/CD toolchains (e.g., JCL, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Maven/Gradle, SonarQube, Nexus/Artifactory).
• Database Systems: Solid experience with relational databases (e.g., Oracle, PostgreSQL) and NoSQL databases, including strong SQL performance tuning skills.
