We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Consultant Specialist.

 

Business: Asia & Middle East Technology

 

Principal responsibilities

  • Lead the end-to-end migration of data and related processes from AS400 legacy platforms to distributed database environments.
  • Define migration strategy, technical approach, sequencing, and delivery plan for large-scale data modernization initiatives.
  • Analyze AS400 data structures, file systems, business logic, and batch processes to support migration design.
  • Design and oversee data extraction, transformation, reconciliation, validation, and cutover activities.
  • Work closely with application, infrastructure, business, testing, and vendor teams to ensure migration readiness and execution quality.
  • Establish migration standards, controls, and governance for data quality, traceability, and risk management.
  • Troubleshoot migration issues, resolve technical blockers, and drive timely delivery across project phases.
  • Lead and mentor engineers, review technical design, and ensure best practices are consistently applied.

 

Requirements

  • Strong hands-on experience with AS400 / IBM i, including legacy data structures, batch processing, and system interfaces.
  • Proven delivery experience in migrating legacy platforms to modern distributed database ecosystems.
  • Solid understanding of data migration lifecycle, including extraction, transformation, loading, reconciliation, and cutover planning.
  • Strong knowledge of distributed databases and data architecture principles, with the ability to design scalable and resilient migration solutions.
  • Ability to lead complex technical discussions and make sound decisions across architecture, delivery, and operational risk.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to work across business and technical teams.
  • Demonstrated leadership capability in managing engineers, coordinating cross-functional teams, and driving execution under tight timelines.
  • Strong problem-solving mindset with the ability to balance delivery speed, control requirements, and technical quality.
