The Opportunity:
We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team as an IT Service Owner (ITSO) for the ICO domain. As an ITSO, you will lead the delivery and governance of resilient, scalable, and compliant systems, ensuring that technology controls and best practices are embedded throughout the service lifecycle. You will work closely with development, operations, risk, and compliance teams to maintain service excellence and meet regulatory and internal control requirements.
What you’ll do:
• Service Governance & Control:
Lead the implementation and operation of IT controls (including IDAM, DMOV, SDLC, and DEPL controls) for the ICO platform and APIs. Ensure compliance with FIM requirements, operating instructions, and key control indicators (KCIs).
• Change Management:
Run internal change reviews to ensure best change practices are followed and mandatory change requirements are met. Oversee ITIL service operation processes, including event, incident, and problem management, as well as upgrades and evergreening.
• Risk & Compliance:
Collaborate with risk and control officers to ensure ICO services meet all regulatory, security, and operational risk standards. Maintain dashboards and insights in Confluence to track remediation actions and service health.
• Stakeholder Collaboration:
Act as a key contact and escalation point for service requests and issues from stakeholders, including application owners, POD team members, and cyber security teams. Influence engineering teams to adopt IT controls and drive continuous improvement.
• Service Planning & Delivery:
Proactively plan for service capacity, upgrades, and evergreening to maintain service reliability and performance. Partner with architects and business analysts to ensure service requirements align with reliability, security, and compliance goals.
• Documentation & Communication:
Maintain detailed documentation of service architecture, controls, incidents, and remediation plans. Communicate complex issues and analysis in a clear, concise, and actionable manner to senior IT stakeholders.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree or above in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• At least 8 years of experience in IT service management, reliability engineering, or software development.
• Expertise in technology controls, including identity management (IDAM), data movement (DMOV), software development lifecycle (SDLC), and deployment (DEPL) controls.
• Strong understanding of ITIL service management processes and change governance.
• Experience with service monitoring and observability tools (e.g., AppD, Splunk), as well as CI/CD pipelines and automation.
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) and containerization/orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
• Fluency in English, Cantonese, and Mandarin.
What additional skills will be good to have?
• Experience in project management and global team collaboration.
• In-depth knowledge of security best practices for software and cloud environments.
• Familiarity with Infrastructure-as-Code tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible).
• Proven ability to influence engineering teams to adopt IT controls and best practices.
• Experience with HSBC system of record for risk and controls (e.g., Helios).
• Strong presentation skills for delivering technical content to internal and external audiences.
