We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Associate Director, Delivery Management.

Business:Group Functions - Enterprise Technology

Principal responsibilities

• Set technical direction to ensure engineering delivery aligns with target architecture, standards, and technology stack
• Lead the modernisation journey from monolith to cloud-native microservices and micro front-ends
• Provide technical leadership across the delivery lifecycle: solution design, build, test, release, and production support
• Coach and mentor engineers across multiple pods (teams), raising capability and engineering quality
• Drive DevOps adoption: CI/CD, automation, and continuous improvement practices
• Stay current on tooling, cloud, and security to influence engineering decisions and reduce risk
• Partner with Agile leads, Product Owner, Technical Leads, Data Analysts, QA Engineers, and Business Analysts throughout delivery
• Lead and perform deployments across environments using CI/CD pipelines and DevOps tooling

Requirements

• Strong backend engineering experience with Java, Spring Boot, and SQL/PL/SQL
• Front-end experience with React and/or Angular (micro front-end experience is a plus)
• Strong understanding of microservices architecture and SOLID design principles
• Scripting skills in Bash/Shell and Python for automation and operational tasks
• Experience with public cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud Platform, AliCloud)
• Strong database experience (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, BigQuery) with excellent SQL skills
• Containerisation and orchestration: Docker, Kubernetes (including GKE where relevant)
• Security knowledge: IAM, roles/service accounts, entitlements, code and container scanning
• Strong CI/CD pipeline experience and DevOps practices
• Familiarity with tools such as Terraform, Jenkins, Ansible, Nexus, Maven, GitHub
• Experience with Kafka and event-driven messaging technologies
• Strong architecture and design capability
• Agile delivery experience and tooling: Scrum, Jira, Confluence
• Exposure to service management and production support (incident/change/problem management)
• Awareness of agentic/AI-assisted engineering practices
• Experience delivering in large-scale IT programmes, ideally within banking and/or financial crime risk domains
