The Opportunity

Join our Foreign Exchange (FX) Options technology team to deliver enhancements and fixes for the FX Option Risk Monitoring System during North America business hours. The role takes senior technical ownership across the full delivery lifecycle from analysis and design through to release readiness and post-release validation. You’ll partner closely with Product, Front Office traders and quant teams to shape pragmatic solutions and make clear trade-offs across speed, risk, tech debt and cost. You’ll also strengthen local support capability through mentoring and engineering standards while collaborating with a China-based technical lead and engineering team. Over time the scope expands across the broader FX Options Primary Trading stack including the Trade Life Cycle platform. Success means reliable production outcomes with strong resilience, performance, security and observability.

What you'll be doing

• Own delivery of enhancements and defect fixes for the FX Option Risk Monitoring System during North America business hours
• Take end-to-end technical ownership across analysis, design, build, testing, release readiness and post-release validation
• Translate business needs into pragmatic solutions with clear trade-offs across speed, risk, tech debt and cost
• Partner with Product Owner, Front Office traders and quant teams to clarify requirements and manage ambiguity
• Strengthen production outcomes across resilience, performance, security and observability including logging, metrics and alerting
• Reduce incidents through effective triage, root-cause analysis and permanent fixes
• Manage cross-system impacts across integrated services and shared data flows as scope expands into Trade Life Cycle
• Embed engineering standards across code quality, automated testing, CI/CD hygiene, documentation and maintainable design

What we're looking for

• Bring senior hands-on experience building and supporting Java backend systems in production with clear technical ownership
• Demonstrate strong experience with modern Java services including Spring and Spring Boot, REST APIs and microservices patterns
• Apply solid engineering fundamentals including OO design, concurrency, performance tuning and clean code practices
• Build operability-by-design through monitoring, alerting, logging and incident management
• Make and communicate sound technical decisions while delivering with distributed teams across time zones
• Communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders including Front Office and quant partners
• Apply strong testing discipline across unit and integration testing and work effectively with CI/CD pipelines

You’ll ship enhancements that matter during North America hours while partnering closely with Front Office and quant stakeholders. You’ll also work across time zones with a China-based technical lead and engineering team with clear handovers and shared accountability for outcomes. Over time you’ll contribute across the FX Options Primary Trading stack including the Trade Life Cycle platform.
