We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as a Senior Vice President, Sales – GTS to manage a large portfolio of Japanese and International (MNC) clients.
Principal Accountabilities:
- Establish new client relationships and strengthen existing ones
- Identify potential trade finance opportunities and communicate propositions to Clients, both for (i) core/traditional trade (Bank Guarantees, Letters of Credit, etc.) & (ii) structured trade opportunities (receivables financing, supply chain (payables) financing, etc.).
- Proactively identifying sales opportunities and developing these opportunities
- Devising plans and strategies to generate new business, as well as increasing revenue for existing ones to achieve asset growth, sales or revenue targets
- Manage key relationships with internal and external stakeholders, which may include relationship mangers and product specialists, developing and maintaining strong working relationships while maximizing cross-selling opportunities for the bank
- Participating in events, initiatives and activities to develop business opportunities
- Help drive implementation of deals internally by liaising with Risk, Legal or Implementation team as may be required.
- Support achievement of the HSBC vision, Values, goals and culture in personal behaviour, actions and decision making
- Communicate and adhere to HSBC policy and procedures in order to ensure good operational, financial and project management, policy and procedural compliance and early identification and effective resolution or escalation of issues that arise
- Protect the bank's reputation and ensuring an acceptable risk profile whilst deepening your understanding of the client through credit and customer due diligence reviews
Experience, Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor Degree in Finance, Business or related discipline.
- Extensive knowledge of global trade solutions including core and structured trade finance, with at least 5 years (at least 8 years preferred) of relevant work experience. Strong candidates with different backgrounds can be considered, depending on candidate’s experience.
- Proven ability in identifying and meeting customer needs through matching a broad range of products and services.
- Good understanding of the market trends, competitive environment, Credit & risk and regulatory environment
- Ability to interact with business customers at all levels, including C-suite.
- Open to business travels, within Japan or overseas, if necessary
- Good interpersonal skills and ability to interact and build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Excellent communication skills, including written, verbal, and the ability to deliver compelling presentations in Japanese and English (business level).. Other language (e.g. Mandarin Chinese) optional but would be a plus.
