AVP, Cross Product Services, Markets Operations

Department Profile:

This team is the backbone of our Global Markets business (one of the largest of its kind in the world) and combines sophisticated 24-hour global coverage with a detailed knowledge of local markets and specialises in foreign exchange, credits and rates, structured derivatives, equities and debt, equity and equity-linked capital markets.

Markets Operations is responsible for driving every part of the trade lifecycle post-execution. This team manages settlement activity, risk and control, adherence to regulatory compliance, and seamless operational client service across 58 countries and territories.

Role Purpose:

The role requires working closely with management and key stakeholders around the firm to develop short, medium and long-term goals for managing operation risk.  Overall high level summary is:

• Reconciliation – Custody Position and Margin deposit with exchange
• Static Data Maintenance – I-star / Treats / contact list / hsbcnet / Tool SSI
• Cash Segregation
• Create and Submit Regulatory Reporting
• Audit Report / Balance Confirmation
• Prepare Board Meeting Data / ORR
• Notification of Signer change to regulator, Nostro bank, etc.
• Key Risk Indicator control
• Trust bank CLS account maintenance and SSI set up
• Respond query from internal / external e.g. tax office
• Update HRR date
• Balance substantiation

Impact on the Business

• Mitigate day-to-day operational risk for Japan Markets & Securities Services Operations.
• Enhance and assist with the development of BAU procedures and processes required to provide clients with a smooth and efficient operational experience.

Experience, Skills and Qualifications:

• +5 years within an investment banking organization
• Successful at working with management and senior stakeholders at different levels
• Native level Japanese language capability
• Business level English language capability
