The purpose of this role is to lead GTS for Taiwan positioning HSBC as the top provider of trade solutions and services in the country for CIB target segments.

Key responsibilities include:

•    Lead GTS in Taiwan with a view to driving exceptional client outcomes and market leadership.
•    Develop and implement the strategic direction to achieve sustainable growth, profitability and enhanced competitive advantage.
•    Drive corridor opportunities and growth by leveraging cross-border synergies, aligning regional and global strategies, and optimising client and market connectivity to unlock the power of the HSBC network.
•    Drive partnership with CIB Coverage Teams in Taiwan to optimise commercial opportunities and collaborate with Global and Regional GTS teams to align strategies, share best practices, and deliver client centred solutions. 
•    Oversee both the frontline and non-customer facing teams, ensuring resources are aligned with GTS strategic objectives to deliver maximum impact.
•    Drive transformation efforts, fostering innovation and streamlining operations to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
•    Manage FRP and aligned resources effectively, ensuring resource optimisation and alignment with strategic priorities.
•    Collaborate effectively to enhance digital capabilities in the market to meet evolving client needs and support scalable growth.
•    Foster a client-focussed service culture ensuring exceptional service delivery and long-term client relationships.
•    Address regulatory and control remediation items raised by external or internal bodies, ensuring compliance and operational resilience.  

Knowledge & Experience
•    Extensive knowledge of GTS business, offerings and market dynamics. 
•    Extensive experience in managing a regional / country P&L of CIB / GTS with experience working across multiple regions/countries and in customer facing roles.
•    Strong knowledge of macro trends and industry groups dynamics in a continuously evolving external environment.
•    Experience of creating, leading and motivating a team, as well as managing teams across multiple locations.
•    Experience of working within a matrixed environment preferred, including reporting internationally.
•    Proven and progressive product management, business planning and financial management experience inlcuding experience in the operational side of international banking
•    Educational qualifications would include an undergraduate or post-graduate degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Finance or a related field.
•    Proficiency in Mandarin and English languages.

•    Ability to use strong judgmental skills to identify and resolve problems whilst maintaining budgets, time scales and quality of output.
•    Excellent communication and inter-personal skills, with experience of dealing with executives at all levels.
•    Highly developed leadership and management skills, with experience in team building and managing a wide range of diverse teams.
•    Ability to lead and motivate other managers and staff, employing appropriate management styles.
•    Ability to develop practical, cost-effective solutions to what are often complex global issues.
•    An appreciation of the global nature of the Group’s business
•    An ability to appreciate the application of technology in relation to operations.
