Job description

Some careers shine brighter than others.

If you’re looking for a career that will help you stand out, join HSBC and fulfil your potential. Whether you want a career that could take you to the top, or simply take you in an exciting new direction, HSBC offers opportunities, support and rewards that will take you further.

HSBC is one of the largest banking and financial services organisations in the world, with operations in 64 countries and territories. We aim to be where the growth is, enabling businesses to thrive and economies to prosper, and, ultimately, helping people to fulfil their hopes and realise their ambitions.

We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Sales Manager, Corporates, Global Payments Solution (GCB 5)

Role Purpose

The Vice President, Sales Manager – Global Corporates is responsible for driving incremental cash management revenue from a portfolio of local corporate and internal mid-market (IMM) clients across the Philippines. The role owns the end-to-end sales cycle — from opportunity identification and solution structuring through to pitch delivery, negotiation, and implementation handover — for payments, collections and liquidity solutions.

The role holder acts as the primary cash management point of contact for an assigned local corporate portfolio, partnering closely with Relationship Managers, Product, Implementation, and Client Service teams to originate, structure, and close mandates, while building durable, advisory relationships that support client retention and wallet-share growth over time.

Principal Accountabilities

  • Own a defined portfolio of local corporate clients and prospects, developing and executing an account-level cash management sales strategy for each.
  • Originate and convert new cash management mandates (payments, collections, liquidity management, virtual account management, real-time payments,) in partnership with Relationship Management.
  • Lead client-facing pitches and RFP responses, translating client working-capital and treasury needs into tailored HSBC solutions and compelling, well-evidenced proposals.
  • Build and maintain a robust sales pipeline in the CRM, with accurate forecasting, deal staging, and win/loss analysis to support monthly and quarterly business reviews.
  • Conduct competitive intelligence and market analysis on peer banks' cash management propositions, pricing, and client wins to sharpen HSBC's positioning and pitch content.
  • Structure commercial terms and pricing in collaboration with Product and Relationship Managers, balancing revenue, return on deposit ratio, and competitive positioning.
  • Coordinate implementation handover with Client Implementation teams to ensure smooth onboarding and time-to-revenue for won mandates.
  • Deepen existing relationships through regular client engagement, cross-sell of adjacent transaction banking products, and proactive identification of unbanked subsidiaries, new investments monetization, and payment ecosystem opportunities.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of regulatory, market infrastructure (e.g., PhilPaSS, InstaPay/PESONet), and industry developments relevant to Philippine cash management.
  • Support the Head of Global Payment Solutions on ad hoc strategic initiatives, sales enablement materials, and coaching of junior sales talent as required.

Impact on the Business

  • Directly accountable for new cash management revenue generation against an agreed annual sales target for the local corporate segment.
  • Contributes to overall GPS revenue growth, client retention, and share-of-wallet expansion in the Philippines.
  • Influences HSBC's competitive positioning through high-quality, insight-led client pitches and market intelligence.

Customers / Stakeholders

  • Local corporate clients and prospects (CFOs, Treasurers, Finance Directors, Shared Service Centre heads).
  • Relationship Management and Corporate Banking coverage teams.
  • Cash Management Product, Pricing, and Implementation teams.
  • Regional and Group Cash Management stakeholders for cross-border and regional mandates.

Leadership & Teamwork

  • Operates as a trusted advisor and deal leader, coordinating cross-functional deal teams without formal authority over most contributors.
  • Role models HSBC values and a client-first, collaborative approach with Relationship Managers and Product partners.
  • May mentor or coach junior sales colleagues on solutioning, pitch craft, and deal negotiation.

Operational Effectiveness & Control

  • Ensures all sales activity and client due diligence complies with HSBC financial crime, KYC/AML, credit, and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintains accurate and timely CRM records, deal documentation, and approvals in line with governance standards.
  • Escalates conduct, reputational, or control concerns promptly in line with HSBC's risk management framework.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field; MBA an advantage.
  • 5+ years of experience in transaction banking / cash management sales, corporate banking, or treasury, with a demonstrated new-business origination track record.
  • Strong understanding of payments, collections, liquidity management, and account services products, and of Philippine payment infrastructure and regulation.
  • Proven ability to structure and present complex solutions to senior corporate stakeholders (CFO/Treasurer level).
  • Strong commercial acumen, including pricing, profitability, and risk-adjusted return considerations.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills across a matrixed, cross-functional organisation.
  • Proficiency with CRM and sales pipeline tools, and strong written and verbal communication skills for pitch and proposal development.

Due to the urgent hiring need, candidates with immediate right to work locally and no relocation need will be prioritised.
