We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Manager/Assistant Vice President, Asset, Liability & Capital Management
Provide local senior management and Regional head office with concise, accurate and timely analysis of current and projected performance results with emphasis placed on economic profit and growth in the balance sheet within a set of risk appetite. Improve control and reporting activities to enable local ALCO to make accurate risk reward decisions.
In this role, you will:
- Ensures compliance with reporting requirements in relation to monthly Asset, Liability and Capital Management reports
- Provide pro-active support in the management of liquidity, funding, IRRBB and Capital risks
- Support due diligence to be carried out relative to new product and/or business proposals
- Contribute to the effective operation of the ALCO process
- Coordinate data gathering to support the local capital plans with realistic assumptions on both dividends and capital injections
- Liaise with the Markets Treasury team and Customer Groups to further understand liquidity positions and balance sheet movements
- Proper interpretation of relevant FIM provisions as well as local regulatory guidelines in relation to liquidity, funding, IRRBB and Capital Management, and ensure compliance
- Work closely with the regional ALCM team and 2LOD to establish effective reporting mechanism, interpretation and implementation of Group policies
- Aspects of the job include understanding the regulatory pronouncements of the regulators regarding interest rate risk, liquidity and funding and capital management and should have in depth knowledge of finance, treasury and balance sheet management, underlying banking systems, product set and customer base. The jobholder must be able to professionally and effectively present information and respond to questions from all levels of management and regulators.
- Provide cover for VP ALCM & MR&A, when required. On an ad hoc basis, provide cover for Manager/AVP Product Control.
To be successful in this role, you should meet the following requirements:
- University level degree in a finance or related discipline.
- Knowledge of Treasury products and Treats, HMI & HUB systems preferred
- Able to cope with pressure and tight deadlines
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to deal confidently with staff at senior levels
- Sound commitment to continuous improvement, self-motivated, confident, and capable of working independently as well as part of a team
