We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Manager Tax Compliance. 

 

Role Purpose

To actively and directly assists in the management of  tax liabilities, risks and tax reporting requirements  of HBAP MNL and subsidiaries. This role acts  independently for various activities allocated to the jobholder and with overview/directional guidance from MNL tax head:

  • Tax accounting and reporting                                                                             
  • Tax reconciliation and analysis                                   
  • Tax operations and processes
  • Tax provisioning
  • Tax assessment and liaison

 

Principal Accountabilities:

 

Impact on the Business 

  • Protect HSBC Group assets and contribute favorably to the Group’s financial performance by reducing tax risk 
  • Deliver relevant and reliable tax information to internal and external users.
  • Help in driving business growth 

 

Customers / Stakeholders

  • Ensure compliance to local and group requirements within set / agreed standards
  • Provide reliable, efficient and timely in-house tax assistance
  • Liaise and maintain good rapport with external auditors, tax counsels and examiners , the local banking association and the tax agency

 

Leadership & Teamwork 

  • Communicate effectively and maintain positive working relationships
  • Work effectively with other units within Finance and other units within the Bank in order to deliver excellent service 
  • Contribute to own development and that of other members of the team

 

Operational Effectiveness & Control

  • Ensure that tax process are reliable and efficient 
  • Ensure smooth and efficient tax transition / implementation of tax regulations / procedures
  • Ensure adequate cover

 

 

Qualifications:

  • Certified Public Accountant - preferred but not required 
  • Has a minimum of 5 years  tax / finance exposure, regulatory knowledge ; working knowledge of bank products and business; well developed analytical abilities and excellent communication (verbal and written) skills.
