We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Manager, Performance Services
Role Purpose
Group Chief Operating Office (GCOO) plays a pivotal role within HSBC, providing essential operational and technical support to our global businesses to improve customer service and drive efficiency. GCOO brings together global expertise and technology to help keep HSBC ahead of the competition.
The Chief Operating Officer (COO) has overall responsibility for leading GCOO, providing critical support to the bank across operations, technology, and key central business services.
The Performance team supports the COO by acting on their behalf with internal and external stakeholders and providing business management support, including communications, strategy execution, financial management, governance, and people engagement, as well as delivering a range of employee services and benefits. The team also drives continuous improvement across the COO organisation, including change execution, regulatory reporting and risk management, simplification, and automation.
Principal Accountabilities
- Change execution & continuous improvement: Deliver end-to-end change initiatives, coordinating stakeholders, dependencies and communications to achieve outcomes on time, while driving simplification, standardisation and automation across the COO Office.
- Programme/project delivery support: Support delivery of strategic programmes and provide day-to-day project management, including planning, RAID tracking, and governance reporting to protect delivery outcomes.
- Executive and Administrative Support: Provide end-to-end executive and administrative support to the Country COO / Head of Performance Services, ensuring excellent service delivery through calendar and logistics management, reimbursements and expense liquidation, oversight of club shares and administrative vendors (e.g., bank cars, office supplies), and acting as an alternate Business Continuity coordinator for the COO Office.
- Communications and Stakeholder Alignment: Provide support in executing communication plans both within and outside of the Functions (and Regional/Country COO) to ensure internal and external teams have a strong understanding of the Function’s purpose, strategy, deliverables and value.
- Service performance management: Support the management of service performance metrics (KPIs, dashboards), track outcomes, and drive follow-ups to improve efficiency, effectiveness and stakeholder experience.
- Financial management & planning support: Coordinate inputs for planning, forecasting, tracking and reporting with Global/Regional/Country Finance to support cost discipline and resource transparency.
- Non-Financial Risk (NFR) oversight support: Support COO Office NFR deliverables (e.g., regulatory reporting, manual process governance, EWRA) through tracking, evidence management, and timely escalation of issues.
- Governance & management controls: Maintain governance routines, documentation standards and management controls to support auditability, decision-making and disciplined execution.
- People strategy & engagement: Support planning and delivery of people engagement and internal communications initiatives, partnering with HR and business leaders to strengthen culture and colleague experience.
- Business management support: Provide business management support to the Country COO and Head of Performance Services, helping translate priorities into structured plans, actions and measurable outputs.
Qualifications
- Experience supporting end-to-end change and continuous improvement initiatives, including simplification and/or automation.
- Solid project management capability, with experience coordinating cross-functional delivery, managing dependencies and producing governance updates.
- Experience supporting service performance management (KPIs/benchmarks, dashboards, tracking, actions).
- Working knowledge of financial planning and reporting (budgeting, forecasting, tracking) in partnership with Finance, with focus on cost discipline and transparency.
- Experience supporting Non-Financial Risk (NFR) activities (e.g., regulatory reporting, manual process governance, EWRA), including tracking and evidence support.
- Experience operating governance routines, maintaining documentation standards and supporting audit readiness.
- Experience supporting people engagement and internal communications initiatives with HR and business leaders.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively across diverse stakeholder groups.
- Strong stakeholder management, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and SharePoint/Teams.
