We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Country Head of GTS Services.

 

The role is responsible for running the entire transaction services team within GTS. The team in GTS includes the Client Services team which directly falls under the remit of this role. The role also has oversight over outsourced operations. The transaction services team is responsible for processing of transactions and risk management (including but not restricted to Operational risk, Financial Crime risk, Fraud risk) within GTS.

 

The following are key roles and responsibilities but not necessarily limited to :

 

  • Provide leadership, direction and delivery of the key strategic initiatives and programmes that will influence delivery of solutions to our customers across GBM and CMB.
  • Oversee the deployment of the Country Services Model in alignment with the regional and global model
  • Oversee the timely and value-add provision of ongoing support to clients
  • Instill a compliance culture within GTRF Services, overseeing the completion of all required checks to protect the bank from financial crime and suspicious activity
  • Attract and retain clients through providing dedicated client servicing and specialist trade advice
  • Streamline the client on-boarding process and support the implementation for clients
  • Work in combination with other functions to achieve end-to-end client fulfilment
  • Facilitate the provision of technical guidance to clients for navigating e-Channels such as HSBCnet in addition to providing continued support on physical channels

 

In this role, you will:

  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Act as a Services champion to ensure that key objectives are prioritized appropriately within CIB
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with external stakeholders such as Industry Bodies, Regulators and Consultants
  • Establish metrics and ensure effective tracking of HSBC’s competitor offerings and performance in comparison to HSBC
  • Ensure positive client experiences through support, trade advice and best practices in relation to GTS transactions
  • Ensure that GTS Services is responsive to the requirements and expectations of the Global Businesses
  • Deliver fair outcomes for our customers and ensure own conduct maintains the orderly and transparent operation of financial markets

  • Communicate a clear vision for the GTRF Business that is aligned to the overall HSBC vision, Values and goals, and inspires and engages people to create an inclusive, high performing, customer-centered culture
  • Lead, develop and motivate the leadership team to attract, retain and develop the capacity, capability and talent to provide for succession and ensure delivery of business objectives
  • Set expectations, share best practice and manage, monitor, coach and develop team leaders and others to ensure that they maximize their performance, meet the required standards, and continuously develop their capabilities and experience
  • Lead and encourage constructive cross-country and cross-business teamwork by demonstrating collaboration and matrix management in action and challenging actions and behaviors that are not consistent with HSBC's diversity policy and/or the best interests of the business and its customers

 

Operational Effectiveness & Control

  • Manage the processes, infrastructure and resources needed to deliver agreed team plans and targets, identifying and implementing improvements and collaborating with colleagues to maximise end to end integration, effectiveness and efficiency
  • Maintain a robust and efficient control environment across GTS to ensure good operational, financial and project management and compliance with HSBC policy and procedures, together with early identification and effective resolution or escalation of issues that arise
  • Lead the development, implementation and maintenance of a Global / Region management information, analysis and reporting framework that supports and informs timely and effective business management and decision making at all levels
  • Lead the implementation and oversight of GTRF policy and governance frameworks, procedures, practices and standards to ensure quality, effective risk management and regulatory compliance

 

To be successful in this role, you should meet the following requirements:

  • University Degree (BS or BA)
  • Minimum ten (10) years’ experience in Trade or Corporate/ Commercial Banking
  • Strong knowledge of core trade, supply chain finance, and receivables finance solutions – knowledge of structured trade finance an advantage
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with a particular emphasis on leadership qualities and proven track record in driving change and influencing people
  • Strong business acumen and commercial awareness
  • Strong time management, planning, and organization skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to deliver compelling presentations
  • Strong understanding of the business trade cycle and the business processes involved in import and export financing
  • Strong analytical skills, organizational and problem-solving skills
     

Candidate with less relevant experience or skills may be offered a lower Global Career Band level than stated above.
