We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Associate Director, Solution Structuring.
The jobholder is responsible for developing, managing, and growing the Global Trade Solutions (GTS) portfolio in the Philippines through close co-ordination within GTS, Banking, and other units. The jobholder is responsible for the sales and marketing of relevant trade products and leading the structuring of complex and bespoke solutions across the range of trade, supply chain finance, and receivables finance propositions while also ensuring fair outcomes for customers and sustainable growth for the bank.
Principal Accountabilities
- Strategic growth: Deliver business targets across revenue, returns, and key ratios, while maximizing the overall revenue contribution of GTS Philippines to the broader HSBC business.
- Enhanced client solutioning: Provide a comprehensive and competitive suite of solutions to GTS customers via a range of channels, by executing a commercially focused sales and structuring strategy.
- Client-centric culture: Lead the development and execution of a client-centric service culture that delivers superior support to CIB clients across the range of GTS products and solutions.
- Building industry groups expertise: Leverage comprehensive content and industry groups expertise to enhance the bank’s reputation as the world’s best trade bank. Position HSBC as a leading provider of trade solutions, as reflected in key trade finance surveys.
- Safe and sustainable growth: Ensure full compliance with evolving regulatory requirements and that reputational risk impact is mitigated / minimised for GTS.
- Thought leadership: Drive industry-leading best practices in the market, as well as in the select high-growth industry groups through partnership with global and regional teams and external industry experts generating actionable insights and innovative solutions.
Customers / Stakeholders
- Implement Group Compliance policy locally by managing compliance risk in liaison with Compliance, ensuring adequate training is provided and fostering a compliance culture.
- Maintain HSBC internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal/external audit points and issues raised by regulators.
- Manage operational risk including identification, assessment, mitigation and control, loss identification and reporting.
- Mitigate credit risks and safeguard the bank from losses; protect the bank’s reputation and ensure an acceptable risk profile whilst deepening understanding of the client through credit and customer due diligence reviews.
- Ensure compliance with relevant internal instructions (including GTS FIM and applicable local desk/departmental instructions) and external regulatory requirements, including local foreign exchange restrictions as per BSP regulations.
- Ensure KYC principles are adopted at all times.
Leadership & Teamwork
- Evidence of collaboration across coverage/product/service teams; contribution to sales enablement and knowledge sharing
- Work effectively in a matrix environment, balancing priorities across stakeholders within GTS and CIB.
- Support sales enablement by sharing structured deal insights, case studies, and content to improve consistency and scalability of deal execution.
- Promote a diverse and inclusive culture where colleagues can speak up and contribute
Knowledge / Experience
- Extensive knowledge and experience of trade products and market dynamics.
- Extensive knowledge and experience in structuring complex GTS deals, based on in-depth knowledge of the GTS product offering.
- Strong knowledge of macro trends and industry groups dynamics in a continuously evolving external environment.
- Extensive experience in managing P&L with experience working across regions and in customer facing roles.
- Educational qualifications would include an undergraduate or post-graduate degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Finance or a related field.

- Highly developed communication and influencing skills coupled with ability to design and define solutions that add value to customer relationships
- Ability to use strong judgmental skills to identify and resolve problems while maintaining budgets, time scales and quality of output.
- Track record of resilience and confidence when dealing with senior stakeholders to influence change without direct responsibility for resources or budget
- Excellent communication and inter-personal skills, with experience of dealing with executives at all levels
- Ability to develop practical, cost-effective solutions to what are often complex global issues
- Ability to prioritise conflicting demands and problem solve in a dynamic environment
- Ability to lead and motivate other managers and staff, employing appropriate management styles
- Strong persuasion skills coupled with ability to design and define solutions that add value to customer relationships
- An ability to appreciate the application of technology in relation to operations
