The International Wealth and Personal Banking (IWPB) Risk Team is responsible for the development and management of HBAU’s risk management framework across all WPB products, supporting the business and ensuring risk strategies are focused on maximising portfolio profitability across the full credit spectrum.
We monitor and manage the IWPB mortgage portfolio to formulate and implement automated decisioning strategies and credit policies, identifying opportunities for improvement of performance, customer experience and ultimately profit.
This position does not manage any staff and is a 24 Month Fixed Term Contract.
Your main responsibilities will include:
• Proactively identify and implement policy and process improvements through industry benchmarking to enhance customer experience and manage risk appetite.
• Assist manage, monitor, and analyse the IWPB Mortgage portfolio with the purpose of formulating and implementing business cases to sustainably grow the portfolio within the Banks risk appetite and enhance revenue across the credit life cycle.
• Assist monitor, review, and challenge the IWPB First Line of Defence (1LOD) risk and control assessments to provide assurance
• Engage with key internal and external stakeholders
• Support local projects as SME on policy related initiatives
• Support ongoing compliance with regulatory guidelines and identify implications of regulatory changes
To be successful in this role, you will need:
• Experienced in secured policy in the retail credit sector
• Proven experience in retail credit risk management, local regulations and lending policies and procedures
• Demonstrated relationship building and strong communication skills
• Demonstrated experience delivering strategic change will be highly desirable
• Experience in mortgage strategy or credit decisioning management within a banking environment will be highly desirable.
• Strong technical knowledge of local industry standards and policies regarding will be highly desirable.
Preference will be given to candidates who hold Australian PR/Citizenship or New Zealand Citizenship, or who can demonstrate current unrestricted work rights in Australia without limitations.
