Our Sydney Global Corporates team serves both public and private companies and covers some of Australia’s largest and most iconic corporate names. As a Senior Associate, you will partner with a Relationship Director to drive account management strategies targeted at executing large transactions, affecting global product mandates, and maintaining responsibility for day-to-day portfolio activities. Your main responsibilities will include assisting the relationship Director to:

 

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with new and existing clients. You will support in identifying client needs, scope cross-sell and coordinate origination across the product suite and geographies
  • Preparation of high-quality pitch books, client plans, client management reporting and pricing approvals to ensure appropriate deployment of capital and achievement of client account strategy
  • Develop and maintain an understanding of our clients’ industries and associated markets, including both local and global dynamics, to inform strategic and operational dialogue with clients and to enhance problem solving
  • Work with a range of global product specialists including, among others, Debt Capital Markets, Leveraged and Syndicated Finance, Global Markets, Global Trade and Global Payments Solutions, and Private Banking
  • Support on credit and legal documentation tasks to ensure they are completed in line with requirements
  • Support the team’s dedicated Business Credit Officer via an ability to undertake detailed analysis of financial statements and company cashflows to identify and mitigate risk, and identify opportunities
  • Coordinate with the team’s dedicated Portfolio Service Executive to ensure administrative tasks are completed in line with client requirements and internal reporting needs.
  • Ensure strong adherence to risk policies (including ongoing monitoring of clients), financial crime compliance and regulatory compliance.

 

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

 

  • Experience in a corporate / institutional finance setting (including credit fund, ratings agency, major accountancy firm, or investment bank), with a fundamental understanding of key corporate banking products including bilateral and syndicated loans, debt capital markets, trade finance, transactional banking and treasury solutions.
  • Proven credit analysis skills, with a high degree of accuracy under transaction deadlines including strength in financial modelling and sensitivity analysis.
  • Strong familiarity with APLMA loan documentation and Australian security structures.
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong and lasting relationships with internal and external parties.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate and negotiate with people at all levels including clients, peers, product specialists, industry specialists and credit risk personnel.
  • High levels of self-motivation, commitment, attention to detail and a desire to succeed.
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to organise data to create compelling presentations and management papers utilising Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • A degree in Finance, Business, Accountancy, Law or related disciplines - related post graduate qualifications such as Master of Finance, CFA, CPA, or similar will be highly regarded.

 

Preference will be given to candidates who hold Australian PR/Citizenship or New Zealand Citizenship, or who can demonstrate current unrestricted work rights in Australia without limitations.
