Our Global Corporates team serves some of the highest growth and internationally minded companies in the Australian marketplace, with a current client base that includes ASX Top 200 companies, privately held and financial sponsor owned companies. The team has delivered outstanding results and is focused on providing consistently high levels of support to existing and new to HSBC clients, to continue this strong trajectory.
As a Director, you will manage a portfolio of Global Corporate Banking clients within Australia and throughout our network. You will be a senior relationship manager within the team, and as such demonstrate leadership skills as a result of your extensive experience in this space. Strong knowledge of the Sydney market will becritical to your success. This is a role that may provide opportunities for advancement in the future as you further hone your leadership capability in the HSBC environment.
Your main responsibilities will include:
- Independently manage a portfolio of high profile and complex clients resulting in the delivery of strong financial outcomes and solutions with excellent client service and engagement.
- Engage with multiple touchpoints within our client base, including C-suite, to build and maintain strong relationships, identify client needs, and position HSBC’s solutions accordingly.
- Maintain knowledge of external factors influencing international business e.g. economic, cultural, geographical, political, procedural and regulatory.
- Work with global corporates leadership team and product stakeholders to deliver HSBC to our clients across our global footprint
- Collaborate with management, product owners and colleagues locally and globally to drive the best outcomes for clients and stakeholders.
- Driving professional and career development of each team member, equipping team members to build client relationships and product expertise, supervising activities across client engagement and portfolio management.
- Maintain a strong focus on financial and non-financial risk management, best practices and sound governance and controls, escalate and speak up when required.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Significant experience in banking and finance, with a demonstrated track record in complex client relationship management across local and global operations, both for both privately and publicly owned companies.
- Proven ability to develop and originate opportunities across a full range of products, consistently meeting and exceeding client expectations through superior service both locally and internationally.
- A track record of building & developing successful long term client relationships including with key decision makers, developing a multi-dimensional strategic dialogue.
- A genuine customer service focus with the desire and demonstrated ability to consistently meet and exceed customer expectations.
- In-depth analytical skills with a strong commercial orientation and a disciplined approach to maintaining credit quality.
- Strong communication skills, both verbally and in writing with a variety of audiences, enabling strong and effective relationships and exercise influence both internally and externally.
- Achieve strong financial outcomes through collaboration and financial discipline
- Strong non-financial risk understanding, including an ability to proactively identify, assess and mitigate risks, whilst always adhering to mandatory policies and procedures.
- Experience in managing clients in the technology, media and telecommunication sector is preferred but not essential
- A tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline.
Preference will be given to candidates who hold Australian or New Zealand PR/Citizenship, or who can show they currently have unrestricted work rights in Australia without limitations.
