We’re one of the largest banking and financial services organisations in the world, with a network that covers more than 50 countries and territories. We aim to be where the growth is, enabling businesses to thrive and economies to prosper, and, ultimately, helping people fulfil their hopes and realise their ambitions.

We are seeking a diligent professional to join Client Support Services (CSS) team in the role of Tax & Regulatory Reporting Officer.  The role is required on a permanent basis to increase the tax and regulatory reporting delivery capacity and quality of reporting.

This is a great opportunity to join the CSS team which is at the centre of all operational and transactional activity of HSBC’S Trust & Fiduciary business in Jersey.

The role focus is to support the various tax and regulatory reporting requirements which are time critical and need to be delivered to a high standard, working closely with colleagues from across the Trust & Fiduciary business.

As an HSBC employee in the Channel Islands and Isle of Man (CIIOM) you will have access to tailored professional development opportunities and a competitive pay and benefits package. This includes private healthcare for all employees, enhanced parental and adoption pay and support when you return to work, and a non-contributory pension scheme with a generous employer contribution.

In this role you’ll:

  • Assist with the preparation and filings of Jersey Corporation Tax, CRS/FATCA and Register of Overseas entities as well as other tax and regulatory reporting.
  • Prepare and validate FATCA and CRS forms.
  • Be responsible for data maintenance and analysis in preparation for reporting.
  • Deliver other work and tasks as required to support the wider CSS team and Trust Relationship Managers; specifically, deliver project and/or remediation activities where necessary, and/or support wider business-as-usual tasks during peak periods, such as safe custody and trust and company document preparation.

To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:

  • Ability to model and interrogate data, with strong attention to detail.
  • Strong planning and organisational skills.
  • Experience managing a busy workload, and adaptability to help manage competing business priorities proactively.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, alongside strong collaboration and people skills.
  • Trust knowledge, including a basic understanding of how a trust operates and its related parties; and/or tax and regulatory reporting experience for Jersey trusts and companies (desirable).
  • A willingness to learn the role, and openness to studying for professional examinations in the future.

Opening up a world of opportunity.
