We’re currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Senior Risk Manager
This role is centrally responsible for customer due diligence (CDD), Business Banking credit and other risk-related activities across the CIB Channel Islands and Isle of Man business. You’ll work alongside the Chief Operating Officer (COO) team and in collaboration with the CIB team to deliver the risk agenda while supporting sustainable business growth. The role includes oversight of timely CDD completion and client money account reviews. It also covers setting a consistent Business Banking credit proposition with robust oversight of policies, procedures, processes, models and collateral. The role sits within the scope of the Jersey Financial Services Commission (JFSC) Senior Management Function (SMF) regime under Category 3 including approval of new-to-bank and existing politically exposed person (PEP) relationships. Success means strong regulatory outcomes, consistent credit standards and clear oversight that supports safe growth.

In this role you’ll:
- Support CIB’s risk agenda including timely completion of CDD
- Oversee CDD activity across the CIB Channel Islands and Isle of Man business
- Set the Business Banking credit proposition across the business, ensuring consistency and robust oversight of policies, procedures, processes, models and collateral
- Manage client money account reviews, ensuring actions are completed in a timely way
- Approve new-to-bank and existing PEP relationships under the JFSC SMF regime (Category 3)
- Embed internal controls and Group compliance policy through adherence to relevant processes and procedures
- Maintain appropriate records to evidence compliance with financial services laws, rules and codes
- Implement internal and external audit points including issues raised by external regulators
To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:
- Bring proven experience in risk management and ensuring own and others’ compliance with relevant regulatory processes
- Demonstrate capability to prioritise demanding workloads and deliver to deadlines
- Apply relevant product knowledge including lending, FX and Cash Management
- Communicate complex information clearly in writing and verbally to varied audiences
- Use a flexible management style that supports the development of yourself and others
- Evidence adherence to internal controls and relevant processes and procedures
- Maintain accurate records and follow established procedures to support compliance outcomes
- Implement audit and regulatory actions in a timely way, including external regulator findings
