We are currently seeking an experienced individual to join this team in the role of Relationship Director, Institutional Client Group, based in Jersey

We are currently seeking a highly qualified individual to join the Institutional Client Group (ICG) team in the role of Relationship Manager to cover global clients, including Fund Managers, Asset Managers, Insurance Providers and Private Equity/Sponsors.

The ICG team is a global coverage function responsible for managing HSBC’s relationships with a wide spectrum of institutional clients. HSBC is very well placed in this landscape, being able to offer a broad set of capabilities and services, working with product partners across CIB including Markets & Securities Services, Global Payment Solutions, Trade Finance Solutions and Issuer Services, with strong collaboration with other business lines including International Wealth and Private Banking and HSBC Asset Management.

In this role, you will:  

  • Assisting in developing and executing the ICG strategy, increasing the flow of high value relationships into CIIOM.
  • Be responsible for ongoing relationship management, credit and financial crime risk, retention of existing business and origination of new business with clients, working closely with the Global Relationship Banker to grow revenues.
  • Proactively develop an understanding of the clients’ business needs and identify solutions in response to the challenges they face.
  • Coordinate the delivery of HSBC’s product and services to clients to a high degree of customer satisfaction.
  • Identify business development opportunities, coordination of origination and execution of new business across the full spectrum of CIB products and solutions and collaborate with product partners in other divisions.
  • Identify business at risk, coordination of defence of existing business and mandates across the full spectrum of HSBC products and solutions.

To be successful in this role you should meet the following  requirements:

  • Knowledge of, or willingness to quickly develop, a sound understanding of the ICG sector.
  • Extensive experience within, and strong knowledge of, CIB, with a proven ability to identify opportunities and drive these with product partners to execution.
  • Proven relationship management skills with global clients and a track record of client engagement and trusted advisor status.
  • A strong understanding of risk management and risk mitigation.
  • Experience in undertaking in-depth review of industry, competitors, client and products.
  • Understanding or knowledge of HSBC tools such as Omnia, CME, CARM is a benefit.
