HSBC Expat is a priority international market for IWPB and a strategically important contributor to the non-ring fenced bank business. The business is now at a critical point in its story, needing to keep the growth momentum and at the same time tighten its risk appetite, controls and overall risk management.
We are currently seeking an experienced individual to join this team in the role of: Head of Distribution, HSBC Expat
This role is a key leadership position, responsible for leading the customer facing distribution channels for HSBC Expat, based in the Channel Islands & Isle of Man (CIIOM). The role will sit on the IWPB Exco, reporting directly to the Head of IWPB, and will be responsible for the delivery of customer acquisition, relationship growth and service proposition goals as laid out in the FRP and strategic plan, while proactively managing the risk agenda to enable the business to grow safely.
This is a pivotal role that has lots of potential and visibility within an international setting.
In this role, you will:
- Lead, inspire and grow a highly effective customer facing distribution team through clear communication, robust performance management and best in class reward/recognition practices
- Lead and sponsor key strategic deliverables / projects to execute the IWPB CIIOM strategic plan and drive sustainable customer-led business growth, enhancing profitability for HSBC Expat by implementing policies, initiatives, and programs to deliver outstanding customer service and sales performance across all channels and jurisdictions
- Manage activities and resources to ensure business opportunities are effectively captured through the employment of multiple channels; optimising customer channel utilisation and uplifting staff productivity
- Effectively utilise customer insights to implement changes / initiatives to continuously improve customer experience to increase customer loyalty, advocacy and retention
- Grow HSBC Expat customer base through effective collaboration with each of HSBC Expat’s referral markets, building direct acquisition models and maximizing the opportunity presented by other programmes such as EBS and partnerships.
To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:
- A solid track record of working within sales and business development with exposure to the front line, is paramount
- Proven and progressive background in retail and wealth banking with experience of managing large diverse teams is essential
- Strong inspirational, values-led people leadership and organisational skills required which will require clear decision-making, analytical problem-solving and outstanding communication / interpersonal skills
- A self-starter with strong customer centricity and a proven track record of building successful customer centric teams and positive customer outcomes through a multi-channel, geographically based customer relationship management business model with the ability to work in a team-oriented environment and effectively influence senior stakeholders across various business lines at different levels within the organisation and externally
- Risk management exposure with an understanding of the regulated markets HSBC Expat are operating in, including regulatory framework, regulations impacting retail banking activities, the sales process and delivery systems and channels
