We are currently seeking an ambitious individual to join our team as Associate Director, working together with colleagues to define, manage and achieve divisional business targets.
You’ll lead the day-to-day management of a portfolio of complex trust and corporate structures for Family Office ultra-high net worth key clients, supported by junior team members.
Working both independently and as a senior point of support for the team, you’ll guide and oversee junior Trust Relationship Managers (TRMs) in managing succession-planning structures for Global Private Banking (GPB) clients, often involving international families, large multi-entity structures and diverse asset types. You’ll ensure relationship management is consistently high quality and well connected with GPB Global Relationship Managers and GPB Market Heads.
You’ll also contribute to wider team delivery, providing support on projects and helping with management activities, revenue oversight and key indicators (KIs) as required.

In this role you’ll:
- Grow the overall profitability of the client portfolio and the wider team by enhancing and deepening existing client relationships to capture new opportunities for TFS globally
- Assist with new trust opportunities referred into TFS for the Family Office Team and support TRMs to enable their on-boarding into TFS
- Ensure that the relationships are managed within HSBC’s risk management framework and that TRMs carry out their roles with due regard to this framework as well as the wider regulatory environment and all relevant laws
- Embed and promote a strong risk management, conduct and grow safely culture
- Assist with developing, retaining and recruiting key talent within TFS
- Provide technical guidance and support to more junior team members and ensure structure specific risks are mitigated as appropriate through engagement with internal stakeholders both locally and globally as well as engaging with third party tax and legal advisors
- Identify enhanced ways of working to improve client experience and operational efficiency
- Act as ‘A’ authorised signatory (or equivalent),
- Demonstrate effective work and client and people management skills in relation to the daily management of the workload, including when the role holder or team may be under pressure to complete a number of competing time sensitive priorities.
- Demonstrate ability to correspond and interact effectively with all levels of seniority within the Group
- Demonstrate ability to manage conflicting priorities effectively - both one’s own and those of the team to ensure adherence to both internal and external deadlines
To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:
- Knowledge of trust and company administration at as supervisory level
- Ideally a holder of “Table 4” qualification as well as STEP Diploma or other qualification relevant to trust and company administration
- High degree of familiarity with the Jersey regulatory environment including in-depth knowledge of AML and CFT requirements
- A highly effective communicator at all levels, including at Senior Management, with the ability to drive positive outcomes through strong negotiation and leadership skills
- Tax knowledge being advantageous with the ability to successfully manage projects and communicate progress as well as challenges and solutions,
- Capability to understand, explain and resolve a wide range of technical issues, with strong attention to accuracy and detail
- Ability to work effectively and accurately under pressure
