We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as a Vice President, Regulatory Compliance Insurance.

In this role you will:

  • Provide practical, proactive regulatory compliance advice to the insurance business, supporting the SVP Head of Regulatory Compliance.
  • Ensure adherence to applicable local regulations, regulatory expectations, and internal policies/frameworks.
  • Monitor, interpret, and advise on regulatory developments to help the business anticipate and respond to regulatory change.
  • Embed compliance considerations into business decision-making, including incident management, review and challenge of new products and services to ensure potential compliance issues are properly addressed at the early stage.
  • Identify, assess, mitigate, escalate, and report compliance risks and issues in a timely and well-governed manner.
  • Work closely with stakeholders and Line Manager to address queries from the regulators, manage regulatory engagements as well as to support regulatory disseminations and ensure that implementation by business is fully understood and completed.
  •  Produce and support governance reporting, providing constructive challenge to business inputs and ensuring accurate, insightful submissions, contributing to an inclusive culture of understanding business operations and needs.
  • Provide support for a strategic business project, delivering Legal Day 1 readiness and transition/TSA continuity by overseeing compliance change impacts, reporting status to the PMO, and escalating bottlenecks, risks, and issues.

To be successful you will need:

  • Strong regulatory compliance experience in life insurance industry in Singapore.  Candidates with audit background and strong understanding of regulatory compliance in financial institutions can also be considered.
  • Compelling communication and influencing skills, with experience in dealing with different stakeholders across first and second line of defence, including able to articulate the case for risk management and policy in the language of business.
  • Ability to develop practical solutions to complex issues and work independently, yet seek direction collaboratively when needed.
  • Experience of interpreting complex information/ data and provide succinct summary for management.
  • Experience of dealing with regulatory matters and confident interaction with Regulators.
  • Demonstrable experience supporting complex change initiatives, including understanding dependency, action tracking and reporting.
