We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as a Vice President, Financial Crime Insurance.
In this role you will:
- Maintain and enhance Financial Crime (FC) policies, governance and documentation to ensure ongoing alignment with local regulatory requirements and Group standards, including management of waivers/dispensations with clear rationale and approvals.
- Support, deliver and provide effective challenge on key FC risk assessments (e.g., Enterprise-Wide Risk Assessment and Risk & Control Assessments), ensuring robust outcomes and clear articulation of residual risk.
- Lead policy and regulatory change gap analysis; review, challenge and track required control uplifts through to full implementation and closure.
- Define, review and challenge appropriate KRIs/KCIs and FC MI; produce clear, decision-useful management and governance reporting on risk profile, control effectiveness, issues and remediation progress.
- Provide FC advisory across customers, products, distribution, operations and technology change (including campaigns/initiatives), ensuring controls are practical, risk-based and commercially workable.
- Provide AML/CFT, sanctions, anti-bribery & corruption (ABC) and fraud advisory, including support for complex EDD and higher-risk customer assessments, ensuring defensible decisions and appropriate escalation.
- Oversee and challenge FC control effectiveness via thematic reviews, compliance monitoring/testing and annual compliance plan activities, driving enhancements where gaps are identified.
- Provide oversight and challenge of Transaction Monitoring and screening frameworks (including model/rule changes, coverage and tuning outcomes) and manage FC issues, investigations and regulatory engagement (e.g., incidents, audit/regulatory findings, STR assessment/submission, training/awareness and supervisory enquiries) through to evidenced closure.
To be successful you will need:
- Strong FC experience covering AML/CFT/CPF, sanctions, ABC, and fraud with demonstrated ability to apply requirements pragmatically in a regulated environment (insurance experience strongly preferred).
- Proven track record in risk assessments, control monitoring/testing, KRI/KCI & MI, issue management and remediation validation.
- Working knowledge of TM and screening frameworks and related governance/optimization concepts.
- Experience supporting complex EDD decisions, investigations and STR-related processes.
- Strong stakeholder management, influencing and communication skills; able to deliver clear challenge and succinct senior updates.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with disciplined documentation and audit trail practices.
